This is one of the most mind-blowing things you’ll EVER see.
(And I swear to G-D if this post only gets a few thousand views on X, then X is simply not fit for purpose for anything. Because this is something everyone should see and be blown away by)
You’re watching a laser beam move in real time… at 2 billion frames per second.
Light only travels about 15 cm (6 inches) in each frame. That’s why you can actually see the beam crawl across the room, bounce off the mirrors, and come back.
Now watch carefully when the camera position changes…
The light going away from the camera suddenly looks slow.
The light coming toward the camera looks almost instant.
It looks like the speed of light is changing.
It’s not.
You’re seeing the finite speed of light itself. The camera is literally recording the PAST at different moments depending on how far the light has to travel to reach the sensor.
This isn’t CGI.
This isn’t a simulation.
This is a homemade camera filming actual photons.

August 1, 1943. This morning 178 American heavy bombers fly one of the most daring and disastrous air raids of the entire war, roaring in at treetop height to bomb the oil refineries feeding the Nazi war machine. They call it Operation Tidal Wave. The men who flew it called the day Black Sunday.
The target was Ploiesti, in Romania, a sprawling complex of oil refineries that produced a huge share of all the fuel the Axis had. Tanks, planes, U-boats, all of it ran on oil, and a great deal of that oil came from Ploiesti. Cripple Ploiesti and you might strangle the whole German war effort. But it was far away, deep in enemy territory, and ringed with flak.
So they tried something audacious and terrifying. Instead of bombing from high altitude, the B-24 Liberators would attack at extreme low level, right down on the deck, roof height, to come in under the radar and hit the refineries with pinpoint surprise. Nearly 180 four engine bombers thundering across Europe at the height of a house.
It went wrong almost from the start. Navigation errors scattered the formations, a wrong turn led part of the force toward Bucharest, and the element of surprise evaporated. The Germans and Romanians were waiting. The bombers came in through a wall of flak, so low that some hit the smokestacks and barrage balloon cables of the refineries they were bombing, so low that gunners were firing down at them and men could see the faces of the enemy. Aircraft flew through walls of fire and exploding oil tanks. Bombers came off the target trailing flame, crashing into the refineries and the fields.
Of 178 bombers, 53 were destroyed and dozens more damaged. Over 300 airmen were killed or missing, more than 100 captured. It was a slaughter. And for all that blood, the refineries were repaired within weeks and were soon producing more than before the raid.
The courage was almost beyond belief. Five Medals of Honor were awarded for that single mission, the most for any air action in American history, three of them to men who did not come home. Pilots held burning aircraft straight and level over the target to drop their bombs when they could have turned away. It was, in the cold accounting of war, close to a failure. In the accounting of raw human courage, it was one of the most extraordinary things the Air Force ever did.
Drop a ring magnet on a double ferrocell and light itself maps the field: nanoscale iron chains align in the fluid and act like tiny mirrors, blooming into a glowing flower of symmetry. You’re not seeing magnetism, you’re seeing light bent by its geometry

Amazon is quietly hoping you never find the 5 hidden stores buried inside its own website.
I found them.
There's an Outlet with overstock deals up to 80% off. A Warehouse full of open-box products at 25-70% off.
A Renewed store selling certified refurbished electronics with a 90-day guarantee. A Coupons page with thousands of
clippable discounts. And a Haul section where everything is under $20.
None of them appear on the Amazon homepage. None of them show up in your regular search results. None of them are promoted in the app.
A friend of mine a former Amazon category manager who spent 6 years inside the inventory and pricing division told me something that changed how I shop forever.
"Amazon makes the most money when you search for a product, see the first listing, and buy it at full price. Every hidden section Outlet, Warehouse, Renewed, Coupons, Haul exists because Amazon needs to move inventory. But they don't surface these deals in your normal search because full-price sales have higher margins. The deals are real. Amazon just bets you'll never look for them."
He showed me all 5 sections, how to find them, and how to use each one.
I haven't paid full price for anything on Amazon since.
Here's everything he showed me 🧵
Orcas pulled up and surfed right alongside them.
At Sunset Beach in Port Waikato, New Zealand, a pod of orcas joined two surfers in the lineup and rode the same waves just a few feet away. One guy ducked under a wave and came up face to face with a dorsal fin bigger than he was.
They weren’t hunting anyone. They were just checking out something new in the water.
There’s no record of a wild orca ever killing a human. Still doesn’t make it any less unnerving to look up and see one that close.
Would you have kept surfing or paddled in?

Why Does the Catholic Priest Walk Through the Congregation Before Mass?
Every Sunday, the entrance hymn begins. The crucifix leads. Candles follow. Then the priest processes through the congregation toward the altar.
To many, it looks like a simple tradition.
It isn’t.
It is theology in motion.
1. The Priest Leads the Pilgrim Church
The procession symbolizes the Church on pilgrimage toward God. The priest represents Christ the Good Shepherd leading His people to the Father.
2. It Mirrors Christ’s Journey to Calvary
Just as Jesus journeyed to Jerusalem to offer Himself on the Cross, the priest walks toward the altar where Christ’s one sacrifice is made sacramentally present.
3. The Altar Represents Christ
The altar is not merely a table. It symbolizes Christ Himself. That is why the priest bows and kisses the altar before doing anything else.
4. The Cross Leads the Way
The processional Cross always goes first, reminding us that Christ goes before His Church. The priest follows Christ, and the faithful follow after Him.
5. It Unites Heaven and Earth
The procession marks the beginning of the Church’s worship, where the faithful on earth join the worship of the angels and saints in heaven.
6. Every Gesture Has Meaning
Nothing in the Mass is random. Every procession, prayer, bow, and symbol proclaims the Gospel and prepares us to encounter Christ.
The next time you see the priest process through the congregation, don’t think he’s simply walking to the altar.
See Christ leading His people into the mystery of His sacrifice and toward the eternal banquet.
That is the beauty of the Holy Mass.

"Palestine was hardly Britain's to give away." John F. Kennedy wrote that in a private letter in 1939. He was 21 years old. It is in the JFK Presidential Library. Nobody in American politics quotes it.
In 1939 a 21-year-old American student traveled to Palestine on a study tour arranged by his father. He spent time there, talked to people, observed the situation on the ground, and then wrote a letter home summarizing what he thought. One line from that letter has sat in the archive of his presidential library for decades, available to any researcher who wants to read it, confirmed authentic by Snopes, verified by the JFK Presidential Library and Museum, and almost never quoted in any mainstream American discussion of the conflict it describes.
The line is this: Palestine was hardly Britain's to give away.
The young man was John F. Kennedy. The letter is dated 1939. It is in the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library archive in Boston. You can look it up today.
Here is why that single sentence matters and why the full context of the letter makes it even more interesting than the quote alone.
Kennedy's father Joseph P. Kennedy was the US Ambassador to London at the time. He had been following the negotiations between the British government, Zionist leaders, and Arab leaders that were taking place in London in the late 1930s over the future of Palestine. Those negotiations had collapsed without agreement and the British had issued their own 1939 White Paper, a policy document that attempted to manage the competing claims to Palestinian territory by limiting Jewish immigration and proposing a path toward an independent Palestinian state within ten years. Joseph Kennedy sent his son on a study tour of Europe and Palestine specifically to get an educated firsthand assessment of the situation.
John Kennedy traveled to Palestine, spent time there, and wrote home. The letter begins with him telling his father he wants to share his impressions of Palestine, adding "though you undoubtedly, if I know the Jews, know the whole story," a line that Haaretz described as Kennedy insinuating the troublesome nature of Zionist lobbyists in Washington and London who had been working his father's circle intensively.
He then analyzed the 1939 White Paper's proposed solution and concluded it would not work because of the conflicting desires of Arab and Jewish groups in the region. His own proposed solution was to divide the country into two autonomous districts with self-government for each. He was 21 years old and was essentially proposing a two-state solution twenty-eight years before the Six-Day War made that formulation the standard framework of international diplomacy.
He also wrote that he had become more pro-British during his visit to Jerusalem. He said the men on the spot are doing a good job here. He was not writing as a partisan for either side. He was writing as a young man trying to think clearly about a complicated situation and giving his father an honest analysis.
And in the middle of that honest analysis he wrote the sentence that nobody quotes. Palestine was hardly Britain's to give away.
This sentence is doing something specific and important. It is not saying the Jewish people had no claim to Palestine. It is not saying Arab people had an exclusive claim to Palestine. It is saying that Britain, specifically, had no right to promise it to anyone because Britain did not own it, did not govern it legitimately, and had acquired its mandate over it through the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and a League of Nations arrangement that gave it administration rights, not ownership rights. You cannot give away something that does not belong to you. That is what a 21-year-old future American president observed after visiting the place in 1939.
This connects precisely to what was documented in the Balfour Declaration article in this series. In 1917 Arthur James Balfour wrote a 67-word letter to Lord Walter Rothschild promising British support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine. At the time Palestine was not British. It was part of the Ottoman Empire that Britain was fighting against. Britain had no sovereign rights over Palestinian territory. As American lawyer and diplomat Sol Linowitz later stated, the declaration was legally impotent because Britain had no proprietary interest and no authority to dispose of the land. Kennedy was saying the same thing privately to his father twenty-two years after the declaration that prompted the problem.
As a politician Kennedy became largely pro-Israel. He affirmed his commitment to US-Israel ties while a senator in 1960. He spoke at the Zionist Organization of America convention that year. He was not an opponent of Israel or of Jewish statehood. His private 1939 letter was the honest assessment of a 21-year-old trying to think straight about a place he had just visited, not a policy position he carried into his presidency.
But that is precisely what makes the quote worth preserving and discussing. Before the career calculations, before the pro-Israel speeches to New York audiences, before the domestic political considerations that shape every American politician's public position on the Middle East, a young man who had actually been to the place wrote what he actually thought. He thought the problem started with something that should not have happened. A country promising away land that did not belong to it.
Twenty-four years after writing that Palestine was hardly Britain's to give away, Kennedy was in the final months of his presidency engaged in the most intense confrontation of his foreign policy career, one that almost nobody discusses today. Throughout 1963 he exchanged a series of letters with Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion and his successor Levi Eshkol demanding American inspection rights at the Dimona nuclear facility in the Negev desert. Kennedy had concluded that Israel was secretly building nuclear weapons. He told both prime ministers in language that the National Security Archive describes as near ultimatum tone that Washington's commitment to and support of Israel could be seriously jeopardized if he could not obtain reliable information on Dimona and Israel's nuclear intentions. Ben-Gurion, who had personally lied to Kennedy about Dimona's purpose in a private meeting, resigned as Prime Minister the day after receiving Kennedy's final letter to him. Eshkol took seven weeks of tense internal consultations before reluctantly agreeing to limited inspections. In April 1963, two months before his final Dimona letters, Kennedy had delivered his famous speech warning of secret societies, secret oaths, secret proceedings, and a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relied on covert means rather than open argument to expand its sphere of influence. He asked the press to examine and inform and to recognize the danger in a situation where a president of the United States has a secret he must keep because some would say it is not in the public interest. On November 22, 1963, Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas. Lyndon Johnson, who replaced him, immediately adopted a far more relaxed posture toward the Israeli nuclear program. Richard Nixon ended the Dimona inspections completely and the United States government adopted a policy of refusing to officially acknowledge the reality of Israel's nuclear arsenal, a policy that remains in place today. The man who wrote as a 21-year-old that Palestine was hardly Britain's to give away died pressing for nuclear transparency about the country that Britain's promise had created. The inspections he demanded were canceled. The weapons he feared were built. The policy of not acknowledging them outlasted everyone in this story.

The Most Powerful Man in 20th Century America Never Won a Single Election
Most people can name the presidents who led America through the two World Wars. Woodrow Wilson for the first. Franklin Roosevelt for the second. What most people cannot name is the man who stood behind both of them, controlled the entire American war economy in WW1, shaped the peace terms that directly caused WW2, advised Roosevelt throughout WW2, and then presented America's plan for controlling nuclear weapons to the United Nations after it ended.
His name was Bernard Baruch. He was a Jewish Wall Street speculator from South Carolina. He held no elected office. Ever. And he may have been the single most influential figure in American public life across the first half of the 20th century.
This is not a conspiracy theory. His papers are at Princeton University. Two major biographies were written about him. He is in Britannica, https://t.co/MMThHlCY7f, the US Army Ordnance Corps Hall of Fame, and the WW1 encyclopedia. He is thoroughly documented and almost completely unknown to the general public. Here is why that is remarkable.
He Made Himself a Millionaire Before He Was Thirty
Bernard Mannes Baruch was born in Camden, South Carolina in 1870, the son of a German Jewish immigrant who had served as a surgeon in the Confederate Army. The family moved to New York when he was eleven. He graduated from the City College of New York at nineteen, worked as an office boy, and by the time he was thirty had made himself a millionaire through stock market speculation. Not a small millionaire. A significant one. He was one of the most famous Wall Street traders in America by the time WW1 began.
The conventional story of men like Baruch is that they make their money and then maybe donate to causes or buy a politician or two. Baruch did something different. He decided he wanted to run things himself. And for the next fifty years he largely did.
He Funded Wilson and Then Ran the War Economy
Baruch financially supported Woodrow Wilson's 1912 presidential campaign. That relationship, between a Wall Street Jewish financier and a progressive Southern academic politician, is the starting point of everything that follows.
When America entered WW1 in 1917, Wilson faced a problem that no American government had ever faced at that scale. The entire industrial economy of the United States needed to be converted to war production simultaneously, coordinated, and directed at maximum efficiency. Every factory, every raw material supply chain, every shipping route, every price, every contract with the military needed to be managed centrally.
Wilson gave that job to Baruch.
As chairman of the War Industries Board, Baruch had what his contemporaries described as life and death power over every factory in the United States. He set prices. He allocated raw materials. He decided which industries expanded and which contracted. He coordinated the entire industrial output of the American economy for war. The man who had been a stock market speculator in 1912 was running the American economy in 1917.
Simultaneously, Paul Warburg, the German-born Jewish banker who had been one of the architects of the Federal Reserve at the secret Jekyll Island meeting in 1910, was in control of the nation's banking system as a member of the Federal Reserve Board. And Eugene Meyer, another Jewish financier, was appointed head of the War Finance Corporation, in charge of the loan program that financed the war.
Three Jewish financiers. The war economy. The banking system. The war finance program. All simultaneously. In the middle of a world war.
Then He Shaped the Peace That Caused the Next War
When WW1 ended, Wilson took Baruch to Paris for the Versailles Peace Conference. Baruch served on the Supreme Economic Council and was Wilson's personal adviser on the economic and reparations terms of the German surrender.
The Versailles Treaty's economic terms were the direct cause of WW2. The reparations imposed on Germany were so crushing that they collapsed the German economy, created the hyperinflation of the 1920s, produced the unemployment and desperation of the early 1930s, and provided the political conditions in which Adolf Hitler could rise to power by promising to tear up the treaty and restore German greatness. This is not a contested historical claim. It is the mainstream academic consensus.
Baruch and Wilson reportedly opposed the harshest economic measures at Versailles and were outvoted by the European powers who wanted to punish Germany comprehensively. Baruch was not the architect of the worst provisions. But he was in the room. He was advising the American president. He was on the Supreme Economic Council. And after returning to America, he paid ten thousand dollars to a young lawyer named John Foster Dulles to ghostwrite a book offering a positive view of the Versailles reparations sections. John Foster Dulles would later become Secretary of State under Eisenhower. The connections run in every direction.
Then He Came Back for the Second War
After Versailles, Baruch never returned to the private sector. He became what Washington insiders called the park bench statesman because he was famous for holding meetings with politicians on a bench in Lafayette Square across from the White House, advising them on everything from economics to foreign policy to political strategy.
He maintained influence across every Democratic administration. When Roosevelt won the 1932 election Baruch was part of the Brain Trust that helped guide New Deal policy. When WW2 broke out Roosevelt called on the expertise Baruch had developed running the WW1 war economy to advise on wartime mobilization. Roosevelt offered him the chance to lead the War Production Board in 1943 before ultimately pulling back, apparently reluctant to give any single unelected figure that much formal power again.
Baruch placed his own man in charge. James Byrnes of South Carolina, representing Baruch's home district and known in Washington as Baruch's man, was placed by Baruch in charge of the Office of War Mobilization during WW2, the agency that coordinated the entire American war production effort. One degree of separation between Baruch and the man running the WW2 American war economy.
Then He Shaped the Atomic Age
When WW2 ended and the atomic bomb had been used against Japan, the world faced a question it had never faced before. Who controls nuclear weapons and how do you prevent them from destroying civilization. President Truman appointed Bernard Baruch as the United States representative to the United Nations Atomic Energy Commission to answer that question on America's behalf.
Baruch took the Acheson-Lilienthal Report, which was the State Department's proposed framework for international nuclear control, altered its terms significantly to create what became known as the Baruch Plan, and presented it to the United Nations in 1946. The Baruch Plan proposed an international authority that would control all atomic energy and have inspection rights over nuclear programs globally. The Soviets rejected it. The nuclear arms race that followed defined the Cold War for the next forty years.
The man who had been a stock market speculator in 1900 presented America's nuclear weapons policy to the world in 1946. He was 75 years old. He had been at the center of American power for thirty years without ever once winning an election.
He died in 1965 at the age of 94. He had advised Wilson, Hoover, Roosevelt, and Truman across five decades. The 20th century's two world wars, the peace treaty between them, the New Deal that saved American capitalism from collapse, and the framework for controlling nuclear weapons were all shaped in part by a man whose name most Americans today have never heard.
The reason his name is not taught in schools is the same reason Churchill's Strakosch bailout is not taught, the same reason the composition of the Bolshevik leadership is not taught, and the same reason the Jekyll Island Federal Reserve meeting is not taught. The institutions that decide what history is important enough to teach have consistently decided that the documented influence of specific individuals on the largest events of the 20th century is less important than the simplified narratives of elected leaders making sovereign decisions.
The decisions were real. The influence was real. The documentation is sitting at Princeton University. Bernard Baruch's papers are available to researchers. Both biographies are on Amazon. Britannica has a full entry.
He ran the American war economy in WW1, shaped the peace terms that produced WW2, advised the president who fought WW2, and presented America's nuclear weapons plan to the United Nations. He never won an election. He never had a cabinet title after the war. He sat on a park bench in Lafayette Square and the most powerful men in America came to him.
That is the story nobody taught you. The documents to prove it are in New Jersey.
