@RobHarris Rob, @Match_Vision have designed a fair way to end the season in 11 days using 3 isolated stadiums, playing in late July and after quarantine.
Each team would end up playing 32 matchdays - 8 matches against 1st-5th, 8 against 6-10th, 8 vs. 11th-15th and 8 against bottom 5.
@sgevans I have not seen one plan published about cutting this season's fixtures, changing next season's format, switching to calendaric seasons or any other solution that is different than playing all or none.
The conversation should not be end, void or play all. There are middle solutions, shortening this and next season and enhancing the format of both, making it more flexible and feasible. Why isn't anyone speaking about playing 3-5 matchdays instead of all 92 fixtures?
.@JM_Aulas is right. Returning to play under a different, more entertaining format is the best option for any league - it would grab attention from TV, sponsors and worldwide fans. I hope others leagues would learn and be more innovative, instead of terminating their season
If UEFA would have extended the season until December as @Match_Vision proposed 7 weeks ago, the postponement of @Ligue1_ENG and @eredivisie wouldn't have been a problem. Football HAS to change and be open to new ideas.
Regional divisions are not the solution. This would create absurd situation with neighboring Midlands teams in different leagues. Back in 2015 @Match_Vision designed the @CopaPeru with 50 teams competing against all yet travelling less than they did before @KeirRadnedge

There's a middle solution: cutting the number of remaining matchdays. Saying the contracts signed say 38 matchdays or 380 matches is pure laziness instead of analyzing solutions and consulting with TV, sponsors and experts.
@LeandroShara@ItayIngber#SportHiatus

@itrustsport @RichardGillis1 Here are some other questions: why do (almost) all sport competitions held in round-robin groups and/or playoffs? Why do we have 3 or 6 matchdays in first rounds and not 2, 4 or 8? Why does FIFA need to increase number of teams in WC from 32 to 48 and not to 36?
Cuales son las fases de afrontar el crisis actual en el mundo deportivo? Cuando los organizadores tomen las decisiones políticas? @LeandroShara comenta @ItayIngber

It's time to reformat and redesign all international football competitions and calendar. @Concacaf used #PotsSystem for @CNationsLeague Qualification, as they needed to used 4 matchdays (impossible with groups), now the task is to spread it across competitions.
Video interview: FIFA vice president @VicMontagliani says international football might not resume fully until next year because of the need to give priority to club competitions and the coronavirus pandemic travel restrictions.

What to do? Total reform in the system, also to help organizers that now face heavy financial losses. Move away from the one&out system, reduce number of players in each tournament by 25-50% while maintaining (or increasing) total number of matches.
This is just the beginning. When tennis resumes the risk of #matchfixing would increase significantly: players in need for cash, travel expenses likely to grow, unbalanced, uncompetitive matches would be more common.
Then ask confederations and leagues to do a similar process. New formats for current and next tournaments, involve all stakeholders in the process and analyze ALL solutions, including one's from experts outside the organization.
Infantino speaks about flexibility and innovation in terms of formats and scheduling, and doing a thorough analysis. We hope that this time @LeandroShara's voice is heard and a true analysis is done, repairing the broken formats used today
FIFA should show leadership and say: we decided to expand the World Cup to 48, we will still do but gradually, first to 36 in 2026. Bring together committed sponsors and broadcasting partnets and show this would only benefit them.
