St. Anthony of Padua was a Franciscan preacher famous for converting heretics and working wonders.
One of the best-known stories about him is the miracle of the donkey that knelt before the Eucharist.

A man who denied that Jesus is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament,often named Bononillo in later accounts, mocked the teaching. After arguments failed, he challenged Anthony: starve his donkey for three days, then place food in front of the hungry animal while Anthony held a consecrated Host.
If the creature ignored the hay and knelt before the Sacrament, the man said he would believe.

Anthony accepted and spent the three days in fasting and prayer. On the appointed day a crowd gathered, most often said to be in Rimini. Food was set before the starved donkey. Anthony commanded it, in the name of its Creator, to come and adore Him.
The animal turned away from the food, walked to Anthony, and knelt, bending its front legs and lowering its head before the Host. The challenger converted on the spot, and others present did the same.

1. Trust Me completely

2. Run to My Heart immediately in temptation
→ Do not dialogue with temptation. Refuge is victory.

→ Darkness loses power when brought into the light.

Jesus calls the soul to patience in weakness and growth (Diary 1488).

6. Accept suffering with love
→ United to Christ, suffering becomes redemptive.

“You will save more souls through prayer and suffering than through activity” (Diary 1767).
Suffering embraced in union with Him has real spiritual power.

7. Remain obedient to legitimate spiritual authority
→ Obedience protects against deception.

“My will is that you should obey your confessor in everything” (Diary 639).
Obedience is tied to safety in the spiritual life.

8. Avoid curiosity about the future
→ Trust God’s timing. Curiosity breeds anxiety.

“Do not be curious about the future… I am your security” (Diary 293).
He redirects the soul from curiosity to trust.

9. Reject discouragement immediately
→ Discouragement never comes from God.

“Why are you afraid…? Do you not know that I am always with you?” (Diary 613).
