I remain rather perturbed that so many young programmers believe that their users and managers don't care about quality. I'm even more perturbed that so many believe that coding speed is inversely proportional to quality.
The only way to go fast is to go well. Writing good clean code is the fastest way to write code -- at any timescale.
💥Building a business is a slugfest to see who gets more customers first. As an old boss told @Swizec once: "Clean code won't matter if we're dead".
You have to shift your mindset from📊best practices to getting shit done. But you can't go too wild or the tech debt will kill ya.
Flying to San Francisco with Lufthansa.
An 11 hour flight with no space
This should be illegal.
And this after my initial flight was cancelled ( 7 hour flight now is converted to 11 hour flight plus 4 hour extra)
Lost one hotel night and won 8 extra flight hour.
Never again.
This is your periodic reminder there's no such thing as a fractional engineer. If you're assigned 50% to this project & 50% to that, then someone is willing to accept 0 productivity from you in exchange for not telling someone up front that their project isn't being supported.
Criticism vs Feedback

• Criticism pushed the other person away, while feedback fosters connections
• Criticism is about the person; feedback is about solutions
• Feedback is delivered with intent to help, not tear down
• Feedback encourages other person
I was thinking the other day…. Mountain biking is one of the most underrated sports: it serves many purposes, when going uphill you are able to think and many times solve life/work puzzles.
Then comes the downhill part where you just forget about everything except the track😉.

I don't much like the notion of code ownership. I would rather that everybody "owned" everything. (I understand that many disagree with that.) If you organize teams along DDD bounded contexts, stories tend not to span contexts, which keeps things under control in larger orgs.

1. Deja de arrepentirte por aquello que no has hecho.
Mejor céntrate en todas las oportunidades que tienes por delante.
