Haven't been able to get this story out of my head. I think this moment is the turning point.
You're either the type of country that allows little innocent girls to be fed to the wolves and forced to defend herself against migrant rapists or you're the type of country where the men say enough is enough and take their country back.
It's now or never.
i’d argue you’re too easily moved by the choice words. “privilege” and “equality” are selected because they confuse the notion of fairness. another way to frame his statement “if you’re accustomed to succeeding due to hard work, ingenuity, risk/sacrifice, and, sure, some amount of luck, having the outcomes reset so that everyone is rewarded more equally feels unfair.”
is succeeding after making good choices, sacrificing personally, and working hard really “privilege”?
is it oppressive that everyone doesn’t get to the same place?
perhaps the real oppression is the loss of individual liberties when naively egalitarian philosophies mutate into marxism, denying opportunities for individual sacrifice, effort, and achievement to be rewarded.
framed as privilege v equality misses the mark.. equality of opportunity and equality of outcome are v different things. silicon valley’s most successful are the immigrants who found america as one of the only places on earth where an individual with zero baseline privilege can struggle and sacrifice and effortfully succeed. calling them privileged after the fact seems hardly the point. but an easy one to make.
Was trying to help a guy I don’t know find a job in tech. Reached out to a friend and explained the basics. My friend, senior level at a tech company, said, “Let me guess — white male over 40?” Yup. My friend was telling me how American tech companies have shut out that group.
I am an ex-google American citizen who cannot find a job because the big majority of recruiters are Indian and only recruit Indians. Most hiring managers are Indian so they disqualify me immediately even if I can run circles around them in terms of tech and communication skills. This has to stop. My American friends in the SF bay area are facing the same issue and we desperately need help from our government. @StephenM@JDVance@realDonaldTrump@StopH1BandF1OPT
You know what killed Reddit? The mods.
I was never "on" Reddit. I tried. But it was toxic people reinforcing toxic behaviors that led to a toxic and authoritarian environment, not unlike X before the acquisition.
I prefer an algorithm. Algorithms you can reason with.
The fastest way to lower average housing prices in American cities is enforcing the law/reducing criminal activity. Huge chunks of high-density housing are trapped in Bad Neighborhoods, no-go zones depressed well below nearby prices. Nobody with options even considers them.
Black kids born outside of wedlock prior to 1960 was 21 percent.
Today it's over 73 percent.
The biggest reason for this is the Government giving financial incentive to get rid of the fathers.
This has nothing to do with slavery or Jim Crow. It's LBJ and Democrat policies.
The reason that Stripe doing an L1 instead of an L2 is a bad idea, is that building an L1 requires you to;
1) grow a decentralized community 2) distribute equity among diverse people who care more about common values than money or fame.
Stripe is *not* well positioned for this.
@washghost1 I worked construction in the early 2000s I made $28 an hour in 2002... That same job in 2025 Pays $15 an hour.... THAT is why I don't fucking do it anymore and They are the REASON the pay dropped so drastically... It's not racism it's just Reality.
This executive order came down today and it clearly states banking services can’t be denied because of protections provided by the constitution of the United States. It mentions companies have 180 days to remove any provisions from their TOS that mention reputational damage to themselves due to the fact that they must provide all lawful citizens with banking services.
Companies like Visa/Mastercard can no longer deny payment for something that in their opinion lacks artistic value, but is legal in the USA. Which Valve had pointed to their rule that outlines that sales of products or services that are "patently offensive and lacks serious artistic value or any other material that the Corporation deems unacceptable to sell in connection with a Mark," are a violation of this rule.
Ultimately, creators can’t have funding sources ripped away from them over political opinions deemed “damaging”.
A major force behind the market structure bill is fear of "Gensler 2.0" if the SEC changes hands. Legislation now can protect the industry later.
But it's pointless if it doesn't address DOJ. Without full developer protections and a Section 1960 fix, "Garland 2.0" will be fatal.
Would love to see the @solana community rise up and join the fight against the DoJ
Protecting smart contract devs from money transmitter laws benefits all of crypto
I’m still stunned that @AGPamBondi brought this case. Biden’s war on crypto was illegal and unjust. President Trump clearly reversed course. Apparently, they didn’t get the memo in New York?
This is the equivalent of prosecuting gun makers for what someone else does with a gun.
Fed is TOO LATE!
True inflation is nearly 1 percentage point below the BLS CPI.
They're hiding behind delayed data. The economy doesn't live in the past.
It's time to cut, Powell!

The Storm conviction is unacceptable in “the crypto capital of the world.” Here are the necessary steps to right this wrong and protect software developers:
1) DOJ must accept the jury’s refusal to convict on money laundering and sanctions, and must not retry the case
2) DOJ must dismiss the Section 1960 charge, or else Roman must be pardoned
3) Congress must amend Section 1960 to clarify that money transmission requires control of funds and does not apply to the developers of non-custodial software
There is no greater threat to crypto than DOJ’s misguided war on developers, which started under Biden and must stop under Trump. This battle may have been lost, but the war will be won.
