I promised @spacedemands that I would tweet this @antipodeonline meme I made yesterday because of an assignment @Matt_Cook made me do during my Masters. So here it is.
This university just dismissed me as a geographer on the TT along with 32 other professors. So apply at your own peril. This is looking more capricious every day.
@dallen_critgeo OMG dude. This is absolute garbage. Sorry to just now be hearing about it. Not sure if we can do anything to help here at EMU, but I’ll ask around.
@EMUAAUP I think my 11 am class is going to be a “regroup” session for all of us. I was fully prepared to be back on the picket tomorrow, but now it’s time to revise some course schedules instead! That’s a much better project for my week.
THE STRIKE IS OVER! We have a tentative agreement. All Faculty will return to work duties tomorrow Monday, September 12.
We could not have done this without all of the support from our Students, the Community, and the Union organizations.

UPDATE: Railroad workers tell us they’re prepared to launch a nationwide strike next week.
“The rank and file seem to be in nearly unanimous agreement of a strike,” worker Michael Lindsey said.
Railroads have pushed workers to the brink with 24/7 on-call schedules & 0 days off.
Last month, Chipotle workers in Lansing, Michigan, became the first workers at the corporation to unionize. We spoke to three of the Chipotle workers and union activists about how they did it. https://t.co/RoBcTV7T2O
@detroitdsa@EMUAAUP There’s also a new sign up for tomorrow’s (shorter) shift! Fingers crossed we don’t need one for next week. (Unless it’s for a party celebrating victory!)
