@davidfowl It's wild.. Just wait until you install a module from an egg (or wheel, I forget which) and have a name clash with module names in your own code because they aren't properly namespaced when imported....
@onedrive your new android app is terrible! Slow, but more importantly I've found that files are not showing latest uploaded pictures in camera roll despite them being visible on desktop. Clearing cache and data doesn't help.
@tdhatcher86@allenholub I've always seen sub tasks as how the dev team can divide up the work required to deliver the story, but if the value of the story can be divided up then it can be a separate story altogether. Story = indivisible value that can be delivered to the customer.
I've always thought of software engineers as really being managers of complexity. The aim is to reduce is wherever possible, not do something "clever" in the name of looking smart.
I just read this variable name in a code review:
startLoadTabIsActiveAndHasNoErrorsButEndLoadTabHasErrors
It's long, but I like it. I prefer descriptive names over code comments.
@BladeDinno@anon_opin I prefer the movie, but the book is more coherent in what it's saying. As with most movie adaptations, I found reading the book made the movie seem like it lacked depth in comparison.
Most modern video games are too long. Hardcore gamers have perpetuated the myth that anything with less than 40 hours of content is a waste of money which has spoiled it for everyone with a life
A typical British conversation:
Brit 1: Excuse me, sorry, can I just... Brit 2: Yes, of course, sorry Brit 1: Sorry, thanks
<both Brits somehow know what's happening>
The best senior engineers I've worked with don't attempt to do everything themselves - they lean on the strengths of others and ask for help when needed to keep up the momentum
@gigsandtours Hi! I didn't get a link to the Keane presale yesterday despite signing up at the start of the week. My wife was in touch with you about yesterday it but we've still not received a link from you. Any help would be appreciated!
