Good news! The blue 🟦 place sci-twitter invite pool has now been simplified to a single sign-up form, and currently has a surplus of invites available! Judging by the 300 new followers I gained today, it is a good time to join :) https://t.co/lonkK7P3m9. .
How does the brain encode signals of distress and prosociality from others? Our @TurkuPETCentre and @UCL_ICN collaborative project figured this out using large-scale multi-experiment fMRI with naturalistic stimulation, now out in @NeuroImage_EiC: https://t.co/z0aRjJybUu
Dissociable patterns of neural activity and synchronisation elicited by bio-motion perception reveal that overlapping autistic and schizotypal-like traits are associated with different neural responses to social stimuli. Thanks to @LNummenmaa and all at @TurkuPETCentre [4/4].
Now published in Social Cognitive Affective Neuroscience: Neural responses to biological motion distinguish autistic and schizotypal traits. [1/4] https://t.co/4KI2wYvsWb
Autistic and schizotypal-like traits are highly correlated, but autistic traits are associated with decreased neural activity in response to bio-motion, whilst schizotypal traits are associated with decreased inter-personal neural synchronization [3/4].
How does the brain parse the social world? New @TurkuPETCentre@UniTurku@AaltoUniversity study figured this out by mapping the high-dimensional social perceptual space in the human brain. A major tour-de-force paper now out in @NeuroImage_EiC https://t.co/dqWQxpaeZb👇
@guyjsburton@AcademicChatter I applied for my current position 3 times in 1 year. 1st time - no interview, 2nd time - interview, no offer, 3rd time - offer. It depends on so many factors, but its worth applying again if its a job you want.
We're recruiting for the 2nd postdoc position on our Leverhulme Trust project "Social Perception as Bayesian Hypothesis Testing and Revision"
42 months, EEG & fMRI, with me, Paul Downing & Giorgio Ganis & @EFouragnan
deadline April 27

Preprint! Bio-motion perception elicits different patterns of neural activity and inter-personal neural synchronisation, and are differentially correlated with autistic and schizotypal traits in the general population https://t.co/3E7uIiSt8m [1/5].
Dissociable patterns of neural activity and synchronisation elicited by bio-motion perception reveal that overlapping autistic and schizotypal-like traits are associated with different neural responses to social stimuli [4/5].
