@aleabitoreddit Why can’t people understand the simple fact that Blackrock holds virtually ZERO Bitcoin. They simply have the largest ETF which is purchased by clients and then custodied with Coinbase. Absolutely embarassing to list Blackrock as a large holder of Bitcoin.

@EricBalchunas @EdmondsonShaun This is misleading and shows an elementary level understanding of what’s actually happening. Blackrock doesn’t hold the bitcoin. They hold it with Coinbase custody AND they hold it on behalf of their customers. So Blackrock is twice removed from holding that 700,000 bitcoin.

@EricBalchunas @EdmondsonShaun Blackrock OWNS only about 6 bitcoin. Yes SIX as in the number that comes after FIVE. Their collective clients own 700,000 Bitcoin which an argument can be made that they don’t even own that bitcoin because not your keys not your coins.
