@cubedh@mrbeankc@vikingzfanpage Coy is meaningless look how well recent coach of the years have done. I highlighted in red which ones got fired for being trash
KOC doesnβt get enough flack for having a top 5 defense, Justin Jefferson, Addison, a healthy Aaron Jones, and Sam Darnold all together and not even winning a wild card game, especially when Seattle was able to win the super bowl with less
I'm curious to hear from Vikings fans...
A simple Kevin O'Connell approval rating.
Do you approve of the job Kevin O'Connell is doing / has done heading into Year 5 as head coach?
@cubedh@vikingzfanpage We started what 0-4 with Kirk that year? Kirk was famous for always having a super hot October then dropping off, football is a team sport and Zim made it to an nfc championship with Case Keenum I will not give our qb guru head coach a qb being bad excuse
@vikingzfanpage Yeah 5 years and no playoff win is unacceptable, hes a great culture guy, but we havenβt even cracked a top 10 offense once with him as our hc, even Zim managed that
@verysadvikings The entire point behind a young qb is getting to build a team around a good qb with a rookie contract, even if JJ turns it around the rookie contract benefit is gone
I struggle to get onboard with this because Seattle has this exact same anti tank philosophy and literally just won it all, the Chiefs did not tank to get Mahomes and became a dynasty, and the Rams didnβt tank to replace Goff.
For years, I begged the Vikings to draft a franchise QB. A 10-year solution, just like the Packers are gifted every decade.
I've done a 180-degree turn.
Developing a young QB is an arduous process that oftentimes requires losing. The Wilfs don't have the stomach or patience for it. Kevin O'Connell's track record also suggests he works exponentially better with veterans.
Not to mention, over the past 40 years, the Vikings' most successful and fun seasons have all involved random veteran QBs -- Randall Cunningham, Brett Favre, Case Keenum, Kirk Cousins, Sam Darnold...
That's what I want from now on.
If the Vikings are ever going to win a Super Bowl, I want it to be a random QB mercenary.
@verysadvikings I would hate a Jordan love arc we get one year of him playing well in a rookie contract then immediately are forced to give him a Cousins deal and go back to the possible wild card purgatory we fought so hard to get out of that GB is in now
