“The successor to politics will be propaganda. Propaganda, not in the sense of a message or ideology, but as the impact of the whole technology of the times.”
@DanFriedman81 I remember Larry David playing a specific charicature of Bernie Sanders on SNL. It got so obvious he was campaining against Sanders, SNL even put this in one sketch featuring Elaine Benes:

@Cernovich I remember a movie in which some folks travel from the west to California in order to find jobs ... it was a black and white movie set in the 1930s. Are you sure California got rich just because of Google?
@SenFettermanPA Mr. Senator: are you sure America is not a bully? I do agree that the American people are not bullies but ... historically, the government's behavior hasn't reflected the will of the people.
@mattyglesias It is a well known fact in Political Sciente that voter's perceptions are about recent past and close neighbors. Once you have public health it becomes a fact of life pretty shortly after it's put in place. Try removing it and you'll see the a communist prime minister pretty soon
@RT_com So ... the Cold War gave way for the Tweet War?
Roosevelt aknowledged the important contribution of the Chinese people to the victory over Imperial Japan, though. That's why China has veto power in the UNSC and that's why George Marshall was sent to china after WWII.
@chefboyyardtea@Aella_Girl Well ... Bertrand Russell said something about that in his Nobel Prize acceptance speech. It goes something like this: "If politics is to become a science we must stablish at which point of starvation one would exchange liberty for a bag of rice".
@zaida_alicea@KenRoth@FoxNews@POTUS I'm really sorry about your son but Mr. Roth is not related to the Sackler family. Actions like that do not reduce the ammount of drugs entereing the US - they're just ad campaigns. Other measures help a lot more but those don't make good ads.
Who would imagine one day we'd see Donald Trump agreeing with Noam Chomsky on something??? Apparently (NYT Podcast https://t.co/AIUsKEPHo5) Trump is arguing that the US was never really a free market economy.

@CBN Lula perdendo oportunidade de ficar calado. Trump fez a popularidade dele ir de 24% pra mais de 60% ... Lula já sentiu o cheiro de sangue e está totalmente focado na reeleição - tá até criando seu próprio MAGA. Vai a m**** Lula!
@GaryMarcus I have an idea about how to deal with the natural tendency of digital media to become monopolies - and it involves old school landlines!
(it's a serious idea, though and something like that was implemented in Brazil with the PIX electronic payment system)
@Cecil_Gericke@JohnCleese Also, he and his Hollywood friends killed a man! They devised this intricate plan that involved making a very funny film - like that joke the British used in WWII - in order to get the man to have a heart attack caused by laughing too much.
@Cecil_Gericke@JohnCleese Well ... he did do that a lot! He once was involved with a parrot, then with a fish, the Crusades, Brian (not the dog), openly showed his difficulty dealing with the Spanish language and worked as a terrorist waiter who served exploding chocolate bits to his customers!
@MarkDGibb@RBReich I found an interesting video featuring @yanisvaroufakis a couple of days ago. I learned a lot from it and I think you'll also find it interesting.

It's the part about the trade deficit. It's not exactly about the deficit but related to.
