@pachabelcanon@saintsoftness A few years ago I started writing a book telling Brutus and the giants (Monmouth) from the perspective of the giants; maybe I should pick it back up
@Apocryphal_Book@peligrietzer An interesting take on the Arthurian mythos, which deals with place and who belongs there, as well as his familiar favourite subjects - and it gave us some interesting musings from Le Guin
@saintsoftness the ideal way to read a book is to take it in isolation and understand nothing of the context of its creation, it's what the author would have wanted (if we dare to assume the writer wants anything)
@dionehwrites Hit the top 1% this time around with a script I thought wouldn't be their thing at all - the closest I've got so far. Onwards and upwards for both of us!
@LarsHoel_writer You can't necessarily tell if someone is an amazing writer from the first ten pages, but you can usually tell if they're not an amazing writer from a single page.
@MJHuntsgood @JECearlock Neither you nor Thea nor Tamsyn Muir invented blood magic. This is Sungate all over again! Plagiarism is abhorrent, but this... isn't it.
@HobbitHoleBooks@hannaford_jenny@jamediGwent 120k is the magical number going round right now! Partly paper, partly fewer editors, partly... I think the era of debut doorstoppers is just over (for now).
In The Rose Tower, Max Hallam delves into the world of cultists and lavish excess, and a piece of art that is not entirely of this realm. When you open the door to another world, be careful not to let something else step inโฆ
@JennaDevillier NetGalley encourages you to dual-post to GR, though, with its option to do it automatically. Do you think that in itself is part of the problem?
