Agreed the math is flawed but designed to show the tradeoff is way lopsided. If you get a 401K deposit matched before it’s taxed it’s hard to recoup that advantage if you decide to take the taxed funds up front, not to mention those matched funds are in the stock market which generally goes up over time

Today we took my son to St Andrews where the sport of golf, my favorite sport, all began ~600 years ago. The Town and The Old Course totally overwhelmed me with so many of my favorite golf memories from year’s past, it reminded me how many great times I’ve harvested over the years with family and friends, and excited me for the future memories on the course still to come

Foremost I thought of my dad and two grandpas who taught me to play when I was very young, and the hundreds of hours we spent together on the course growing up. That will always be my favorite 4some ❤️

I had Thomas take his very first swing of the club at The Old Course, that way he can always say he got started where It all got started. I don’t know if he’ll enjoy golf as much as I do, but I’ll get him out there early and often just like my dad and grandpas did with me
