@kp8025@CatholicDrip___ Rejecting books from the Septuagint is misguided since Jesus quoted from it in the Gospels and most NT quotes are from it. Every Bible had them, even the KJV, until random Bible societies removed them the 1800s, granted Luther was the first to cast doubt on them
@kp8025@CatholicDrip___ Two believers can apply those principles and reach different conclusions. Hence why you have some Prots today reject Hebrews! Which is why authority is needed to settle these disputes as we had at councils in the 4th and 5th centuries and why I asked the original question
@kp8025@CatholicDrip___ Oh you're a cessationist. That's super interesting. How then do we know what books of the Bible were inspired scripture unless there was an authority structure handed down by the apostles to declare it so centuries later? There is no divinely inspired table of contents
@kp8025@CatholicDrip___ John 21:25 there are many other things which Jesus did which if they were written the world itself would not be able to contain the books that should be written
2 Thes 2:14 stand fast and hold the traditions which you have learned whether by word or by our epistle
“Take courage; stand up, Jesus is calling you.”
This is one of my favorite lines in the gospel of Mark.
A blind man was calling to Jesus for help, and the crowd kept shutting him down.
Somehow, through it all, Jesus hears the blind man and asks for him.
The crowd immediately changes.
They go from trying to shut him up to cheering him on:
“Take courage; stand up, Jesus is calling you.”
No matter what our circumstances or situations, Jesus is calling us to stand and to be brave.
Because he is calling us we have more than we could ever ask or imagine to accomplish whatever he’s calling us to.
I pray that today, each of us hear the voice of God telling us to take courage and to stand;
He is calling.

On this day in 1873, a Catholic priest arrived at a leper colony in Molokai, Hawaii.
He built their homes, dug their graves, and wrote: “I make myself a leper with the lepers to gain all to Jesus Christ.”
Eventually, he died serving the lepers he loved.
Today is the feast day of Saint Damien of Molokai. Pray for us!
