3 mile father|son hike. We talked life, death, God, and adolescence. Paused to watch a woodpecker get lunch and take in the sounds of creation.

[Timothy Keller (1950-2023) @timkellernyc]

The Gospel: I am so flawed that Jesus had to die for me yet I’m so loved and valued that Jesus was glad to die for me.

[Dave Adamson @aussiedave]

Things Jesus DIDN’T say his followers would be known for:
Their opinions
Who they vote for
The car they drive
Their job title
Their social media following
Where they live
Their church attendance
The music they listen to.

Things he said we WOULD be known for: The way we love.

[Dave Adamson @aussiedave]

If the world hates you because of Jesus, that’s expected.

If the world hates Jesus because of you, that’s a problem.

[Dan Mayer @MayerDan]

Early morning hike at Fort Wilderness during CCCA WI Conference. Prayed out loud and listened. If I don’t take time to notice the presence of God, I might forget about God and go through my day alone.

[Laila Mickelwait @LailaMickelwait]

Visa and Mastercard have the power to put an end child abuse, rape and trafficking on user-generated porn sites by demanding business partners implement reliable, third party, age and consent verification for every individual in every video.

[Timothy Keller (1950-2023) @timkellernyc]

The simple fact is that only if I love Jesus more than my wife or husband or friend will I be able to serve their needs ahead of my own.

[Tim Kight @TimothyKight]

A common default trap is BCD: Blaming others, Complaining about a situation, and Defending your default behavior. Despite its popularity, BCD doesn’t work. It damages everything it touches. Resist the temptation. Ruthlessly eliminate BCD from your life!

[Dr. Derwin L. Gray @DerwinLGray]

Leadership is not just telling people what to do. Leadership is becoming what you want those you lead to become.

[David French @DavidAFrench]

This is just shamelessly wrong. A private political campaign is not the government. A political party is not the government. A private company is not the government. This isn’t a “systematic violation of the First Amendment.” The First Amendment isn’t implicated at all.

[Dave Adamson @aussiedave]

If you’re a Jesus follower who thinks the people on the other side of the political fence are godless, morally corrupt heathens …

Then they are the mission field who God has called you to reach out to and to love.

Empty seats have been a common feature of the World Cup so far - so how can FIFA claim attendances are at 94% capacity?

@lmwilliamson7 outlines an increasingly mysterious situation...

On this day in 1783, the last British troops evacuate New York City. Later that day, Washington marches into the city at the head of the triumphant Continental Army.

[Kyle Sheldon ⚽️🇺🇸 @kylesheldon]

Why, yes, I did go back and find a bunch of articles in 1950 English newspapers the day after the U.S. beat England 1-0 in the World Cup.

AND THEY CALLED IT SOCCER. 🤭
