@ACTAnalysis @NHLPR @EdmontonOilers @AnaheimDucks If it was no goal on the ice, would the video review come to the same conclusion? Unlikely as the NHL doesn’t want the review to decide the game. They don’t have goal line tech, and it isn’t crystal clear, so it is unlikely to be overturned - just as it was unlikely in this case

@ACTAnalysis @NHLPR @EdmontonOilers @AnaheimDucks 2/2 2. There needs to be clear evidence to overturn a call via video review. In this case, while we can assume that the puck was over the goal line, there is no clear view of this fact - which is the burden of proof as per NHL rules and past incidents.

1. If the refs are calling things without firsthand knowledge then every call grey call they make is now in question. (1/2)

@KellenDB @Sportsnet I don’t think anyone disagrees with this. People question the call on the ice - there is no way the ref on the ice could have seen this.

That is such a weird situation. No one could see it. How do they call it a goal on the ice @NHLPR @NHL ? I understand the logic of puck size and position, I just don’t understand the on ice call.
