Have students that struggle to use the checklist? Do they use a mentor text when they are stuck? MS writing clubs used the checklist during a read aloud as a writer to annotate a mentor text. Got the language of the checklist/UOS in their heads & writing 2 mentor self to #tcrwp

Little-known fact: I almost gave up when I was writing IVAN. I remember standing over my trash can, trying to decide whether I should throw the manuscript away.
