Today is #ZeroHIVStigma Day. HIV stigma costs lives and prevents people living with HIV from thriving. It stops people from getting tested and knowing their status. Tackling HIV stigma is everyone's responsibility and is integral to the fight against HIV.

Thorough modelling shows that addressing #HIV prevention cascade barriers is essential to achieving targets towards elimination
➡️ Addressing all cascade steps in a priority population is much more effective + responses need to be tailored to specific groups

Our latest publication in @LancetGH by Dr Michael Pickles from @ManicalandHIV models the effect of hypothetical interventions at each stage of the HIV Prevention Cascade to assess the impact on HIV incidence in Manicaland, Zimbabwe https://t.co/vLdujhIyXx @MRC_Outbreak
Do #HIV prevalence estimates among ANC attendees in Western Kenya represent the general population in the era of test & treat?
➡️ Overall yes BUT this masks important disparities in age-specific HIV prevalence

Great commentary highlighting gaps in our understanding of #HIV care in the context of mobility! More research is needed on key aspects of mobility that affect care, vulnerable groups within the mobile populations & interventions to improve treatment outcomes 🌍
#MeSHUniverse
In addition to our findings in Malawi, we also wrote this commentary on overarching issues of #mobility and #HIV. Consider it a lit review shortcut :) Huge thanks to my co-authors (none of whom are on Twitter!) for the months of work that went into these two pieces 🙏
Hampanda and colleagues conducted a systematic review covering research on strategies to increase couples #HIVtesting and counselling in #SubSaharan#Africa published between 1980 and 2019. Read their findings here: https://t.co/qomnuKqVzx #HIV

Our #MeSHSymposium2023 happened in March, but we can't stop thinking about the incredible experience it was!
