As we come off the Easter celebrations, we recognise the support children offer to families and communities in terms of house chores as well as garden work etc. However, there can be a tendency to prolong their stay at home after such a long break.

As @UwezoUganda, we say: Please allow and encourage all children to return to school on time.

The causes of absenteeism and non-enrolment in some Ugandan primary schools have been identified as long distance to school, high school fees, poverty, and cultural factors among others.

@rodneyrugyema There are many factors at play here. I can name a few, i.e., children being introduced to learning in an unfamiliar language; an uneven implementation of the mother tongue education policy; poor teacher training which results into poor teaching approaches, etc.
