I’m so tired of people begrudgingly telling me they don’t care what I “choose” to do as an adult. I was born this way. I have no memory of feeling any different.

My “choice” was to transition and become something many people hate, or die by suicide.

Whatever I was born with is biochemical in nature because estrogen fixes it so shockingly well. All I could feel before was sadness and rage.

After transition, the hardest part of my life isn’t anything medical. It’s how the public degrades people like me and tries to eliminate us from public life.

I wish I knew how to make people care about us.
