@Jooles_Masters@purplepingers Our apartment we rent had an open inspection today and the agent left the front door wide open, including the security door to our floor. We weren’t home for 3 hours, so lucky no one walked in afterwards and helped themselves to our belongings (that we know of)

This result could be very big news, and overnight revolutionize all of electronics and energy. It might not.

RTAPS: The good, the bad, and the ugly: 🧵
@RandwickMayor Hi @RandwickMayor, are there plans to lift awareness for this service? My hunch is the majority would be unaware. Ideally we need a soft plastics collection bin (like FOGO) given that even with awareness, most won’t make the trip to the depot.
@TheRewster@tanya_plibersek Standardised packing won’t necessarily equate to increased costs, or food going bad. This kind of legislation would surely have input from manufacturers etc to make standards (and give brands ample time to conform). Right now it’s the wild west
@TheRewster@tanya_plibersek But some companies are, some simply choose not to. Take toothpaste. Some brands have a recyclable tube, some don’t. This simply standardises it.
@ToKTeacher@tanya_plibersek Eg. I recently bought toothpaste that NOW has a recyclable tube. If this brand can do it, why can’t toothpaste brands? By setting standards, it makes it a more consistent and even playing field.
I don’t understand how in 2023, someone can toss their plastic bottle in the rubbish bin when a recycling bin is right next to it. Absolutely baffles me.
@gluonspring Fun fact, every year the USA hosts a national club championship for all the AFL teams across the US (USAFL), it’s the LARGEST AFL tournament of its type in the whole world for the sport!
