🚨 BREAKING: Thousands of supporters of jailed former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan have marched toward Islamabad, demanding his immediate release.

The protesters, travelling in trucks, cars and buses, began their journey from northwest Pakistan, where Khan’s PTI party holds power, after talks between the government and opposition broke down.

The government has been preparing for weeks for the demonstrators’ arrival in the capital.

Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned since 2023 on corruption and other charges, remains Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s main political rival. Khan and his party say the charges are politically motivated.
