PAKISTAN: More than 38 hours since Mahrang Baloch's unlawful detention, she is still being denied access to her lawyers and family. There are also worrying reports of continued arbitrary arrests and detentions across Balochistan province.

Pakistani authorities must immediately release Mahrang Baloch and all others being detained for exercising their right to peaceful protest, and refrain from implicating Baloch activists in frivolous cases to unlawfully prolong their detention.

This video shows the state security forces directly firing at peaceful protesters in Quetta, resulting in the injury of a young Baloch. Several protesters have been injured, but they were not allowed access to hospitals, and ambulances were not allowed to take the injured to medical facilities. Furthermore, the roads are completely blocked, and search operations are ongoing in Quetta city.

Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Others Arrested: Dead Bodies Seized, Women and Children Attacked in Brutal Pre-Dawn Crackdown by State Security Forces

The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) had announced a sit-in yesterday in Quetta, demanding the release of its central committee member Bebarg, his brother Hammal, Dr. Ilyas, and others who have been forcibly disappeared, as well as the release of Baloch woman Saeeda and several others.

From the very beginning, the state responded with violent repression. Police arrested protesters, security forces escalated their assault with baton charges, tear gas shelling, and mass arrests. Networks were shut down, and a search operation in Saryab was launched to hunt down more protesters, whereas firing took three leaves and several others injured.

Then, today, at 5:30 AM, security forces carried out a brutal pre-dawn raid on the sit-in. Baloch women, children, and peaceful protesters were subjected to extreme violence. The authorities forcefully seized the dead bodies that protesters had planned to offer funeral prayers for today. BYC Organizer Dr. Mahrang Baloch, along with many others, was dragged and arrested.

بلوچ اسٹوڈنٹس کونسل اسلام آباد کے ترجمان نے اپنے جاری کردہ بیان میں کہا ہے کہ بولان میڈیکل کالج اور ایگریکلچر کالج میں بلوچ طلباء پر تشدد اور 200 کے قریب گرفتاریاں حکومتی غیر منصفانہ پالیسیوں کا تسلسل ہے، جس کی سخت الفاظوں میں مذمت کرتے ہیں۔ گزشتہ دنوں بولان میڈیکل کالج میں بلوچ اور پشتون طلباء کی درمیان ایک معمولی تنازعہ ہوئی تھی جس کو طلباء رہنماؤں نے پرامن طریقے سے حل کرنے کے لیے کوشاں تھے کہ پولیس اور کالج انتظامیہ نے ایک سوچی سمجھی سازش کے تحت طالبعلموں کے درمیان مسئلہ کو جواز بناکر بولان میڈیکل کالج میں داخل ہوکر بلوچ طالبعلموں پر تشدد کرکے انہیں گرفتار کیا۔ جب اس عمل پر بلوچ طلباء نے مین گیٹ پر دھرنا دیکر طالبعلموں کی رہائی کا مطالبہ کیا اسی درمیان پولیس نے بلوچ طلبہ پر آنسو گیس پھینکے، لاٹھی چارج کی اور فیمیل طالبات پر نا��وا زبان استعمال کرکے انہیں تشدد کا نشانہ بنایا اور مزید بلوچ طلباء گرفتار کی اور آج ایگریکلچر کالج سے بھی بلوچ طلباء کو گرفتار کیا گیا۔

ترجمان نے کہا کہ بولان میڈیکل کالج اور ایگریکلچر کالج میں بلوچ طلباء کے ہاسٹل پر ریاستی اداروں کے غیر قانونی چھاپے، بلوچ طلباء کو ہراساں کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ انہیں گرفتار کرکے لاپتہ کرنا ناقابل برداشت عمل ہے۔ ریاستی اداروں کی ہاتھوں بلوچ طلباء ملک کے کسی کونے میں بھی محفوظ نہیں ہے۔ حالیہ دنوں میں اسلام آباد اور پنجاب سے طلباء کی جبری گمشدگی کے واقعات میں بھی تیزی لائی جارہی ہے، بلوچ طلباء کی پروفائلنگ اور انہیں ہراساں کرنا ایک معمول بن چکا ہے۔ بلوچ طلباء کو لاپتہ، ہراساں اور پروفائلنگ کرنا ایک وسیع ریاستی پالیسی کا حصہ ہے، جس کا مقصد بلوچ نوجوانوں کو تعلیم سے دور رکھنے کے ساتھ ساتھ ان میں خوف و ہراس پھیلانا ہے۔

ترجمان نے بیان کے آخر میں کہا کہ بلوچ طلباء پر بلوچستان، پنجاب اور اسلام آباد کے تعلیمی اداروں میں ہونے والے تشدد، گرفتاریاں اور گمشدگیوں کے واقعات میں مسلسل اضافہ ہونا انتہائی قابل مذمت عمل ہے۔ بلوچ طلباء ریاستی جبر و تشدد کے سامنے قطعاً خاموش نہیں رہ سکتے اور اپنے بقاء و سلامتی کیلئے ہر فورم پر کھڑے رہیں گے۔ ان واقعات کے خلاف ہم بحیثیت بلوچ طلباء پلیٹ فارم روز اول سے بلوچ دشمن عناصر کے خلاف صف بستہ کھڑے تھے اور ساتھیوں کی تحفظ و سلامتی پر کسی صورت سمجھوتہ نہیں کریں گے۔
