"I am the door."

Not merely a teacher pointing the way, but the Way Himself. A door leading from fear into peace, from wandering into home, from death into life.

I wanted to reimagine this beautiful passage as though it had been preserved in a medieval illuminated manuscript.

It was unlike any ice cream I've ever had. Rich, fragrant, and absolutely delicious. The saffron and rose water make it something truly unique.

Another Persian favorite added to my list. 🇮🇷❤️

The new Odyssey movie has me thinking about one of the most haunting moments in Greek mythology: Iphigenia at Aulis.

I first studied Iphigenia at Aulis during my English M.A. program, and it's stayed with me ever since. I've always found it to be one of the most powerful tragedies in Greek literature.

One way I've come to read it is symbolically: before the Greek army can sail to Troy, it must sacrifice Iphigenia—the innocent daughter of Agamemnon. It's almost as though the army first has to sacrifice its own anima... its compassionate, feminine soul... before it can wage war.

Whether or not Euripides intended that reading, it's one that has never left me.

This piece is my attempt to capture that solemn, heartbreaking moment.

Some love stories deserve a setting with a story of its own.

When I decided to ask Melody to marry me, I wanted the place to be just as meaningful as the moment. We found that at Untermyer Gardens in New York.

The gardens were inspired in part by the ancient Persian concept of pairidaeza—the walled paradise gardens that gave us the very word paradise. Walking those paths together, surrounded by beauty influenced by the culture that shaped Melody's heritage, felt like the perfect place to begin the next chapter of our own story.

Melody, you've introduced me to a world of Persian poetry, myths, language, music, and food. More importantly, you've shown me your heart. I can't imagine a better partner to share life's adventures with.

She said yes. ❤️💍

Here's to a lifetime of learning from one another, laughing together, and building a family rooted in love.

Lothlórien beneath the stars. ✨

There’s something uniquely beautiful about Lothlórien—the silver-grey mallorn trees beneath golden leaves, the soft glow of the Elves among the branches, and a world seemingly illuminated by starlight.

That otherworldly beauty is what I tried to capture here: a place that feels almost too beautiful to belong to the ordinary world.

Jesus Christ. Love incarnate.

This scene from Ben-Hur, where Jesus gives water to a desperate and broken man, has always meant something deeply personal to me.

There was a time in my own life when I was at a very low point—you might even say spiritually dead. I was searching for meaning, hope, and something that could make me whole again.

Jesus gave me that water. He resurrected something in me that I thought was gone.

Gondolin, before the fall.

The Hidden City of Turgon—concealed within the Encircling Mountains, where white towers rose above crystal fountains and the memory of Tirion still lived in stone.

I wanted to imagine Gondolin not in its final hours, but at the height of its beauty: within its streets, where waterfalls, gardens, and soaring marble halls made it the fairest city ever built in Middle-earth.

Tolkien Tuesday ✨

Few objects in Tolkien's legendarium are as beautiful—or as tragic—as the Silmarils.

Fashioned by Fëanor to preserve the living Light of the Two Trees, they became the most treasured jewels in Arda. Yet before their long history of pride, loss, and war began, there was a moment of pure grace.

Varda, Queen of the Stars, blessed the Silmarils, hallowing them so that no evil being or unclean hand could possess them without being burned.

This artwork is my attempt to imagine that sacred moment—the light of creation meeting the blessing of the heavens.
