I have no doubt there will be many well-written social media posts condemning the antisemitic stabbings on the Upper West Side today, and I’m sure many people’s thoughts and prayers will be with the victims and their families.

But these statements ring hollow when so many in the city normalize antisemitism, including simply by associating American Jews with the actions of the Israeli government.

I am absolutely sickened and furious by what appears to be an antisemitic stabbing on the Upper West Side.

While we await additional details to be confirmed, we know that what is happening in our city is abhorrent. The fear in the Jewish community is real. Every New Yorker deserves to feel safe in their neighborhood, regardless of their faith or identity.

We must remain united in condemning antisemitism and ensuring those responsible are held fully accountable. I thank the NYPD for its swift response in apprehending the assailant.

I am very disturbed by this video, particularly taken together with Mamdani's other recent statements. I do not believe this is about Netanyahu at all. Mamdani is using Netanyahu--a despised figure--to "smuggle" in more pernicious forces.

We struggle to respond forcefully to the underlying message/intent because no one wants to be perceived as defending Netanyahu. It's a trap.

It is hard to believe Mamdani doesn't know what he is doing. Meanwhile, antisemitism rises in his city and across the world. Videos like these are radicalizing gentiles against Jews, all while convincing them their cause is righteous.
