Our administration has connected over 700km of piped water across Kilifi since taking office in 2022, making Kilifi the second leading county in Kenya in piped water connectivity.
And we are not slowing down. We are determined to ensure every village across Kilifi enjoys access to clean, safe and reliable water.
@KilifiCountyGov
In response to the rising concerns around insecurity in Kilifi County, today I chaired a high-level security meeting bringing together the Regional Police Commandant, Mr. Ali Nuno, the County Security Committee, Police Commanders, Kilifi North MP Hon. Owen Baya, and Malindi MP Hon. Amina Mnyazi with one shared priority: the safety of every Kilifi resident.
We reviewed the recent incidents and escalating security concerns, and collectively agreed to enhance security operations across the county including the affected areas of Malindi, Gede, Kakuyuni, Mayungu, Mtwapa, Kilifi Town, and various settlements across the county.
Together with my fellow leaders, I am calling for strengthened intergovernmental and inter-agency collaboration, community vigilance, and the organisation of public Barazas to sensitise residents on the critical role of community policing in curbing insecurity.
I would like to assure everyone that your safety is my first duty and my administration is committed to collaborate with all security personnel to ensure everyone is safe
I will be joining fellow leaders and health experts for the MPDSR webinar on “Babies Carrying Babies (BCB)”—a critical conversation on ending teenage pregnancies and protecting the future of our girls.
This is a call to action for bold solutions, stronger partnerships, and real impact.

We held a candid and productive discussion on maternal and newborn health with the Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR) team, led by Khatra Ali, Director of Health at the Council of Governors, who are currently in Kilifi for a technical support visit.
The engagement brought together maternal and newborn health champions, ensuring that leadership decisions are informed by the real experiences and challenges faced at the frontline of service delivery.
Through the MPDSR process, counties are able to identify gaps early, strengthen accountability, and enhance response systems in maternal and newborn care. This includes targeted investments in staffing, infrastructure, equipment, and referral systems—key areas that directly impact the safety of mothers and babies.
These efforts are critical in ensuring safer deliveries and improved health outcomes for every mother and newborn in Kilifi County. We also received essential non-pharmaceutical medical supplies to further enhance the quality of healthcare services across our facilities.
This International Women’s Day, we come together to celebrate the strength, resilience, and achievements of the women and girls who continue to shape the future of our county.
Global NGO Stakeholders Summit signs a strategic partnership with Ashoka East Africa. The Summit will kick-off on 22nd and end on 24 April 2026 in Nairobi.
