Session Two: Bitcoin Savings & Choosing the Right Wallet

In the second session of the Kaduna Bitcoin Summit powered by @btrustteam, @megasley guided attendees through the essentials of Bitcoin savings and how to choose the right Bitcoin wallet.

He broke down the dangers of saving in fiat and highlighted the power of saving in Bitcoin as a path to long-term financial freedom. Participants left with a clear understanding of different wallet types and how to secure their sats safely.

Welcome to the second week of Dec.

The Africa Bitcoin Conference in Nairobi begins today.

Four central bank decisions are coming up this week:
- RBA potential hold at 4.35% on Tuesday.
- BOC potential 50bps cut to 3.25% on Wednesday.
- SNB potential 25bps cut to 0.75% on Thursday.
- ECB potential 25bps cut to 3.5% on Thursday.

On the US front, after last Friday's NFP data showed an uptick in jobs (227k vs 220k expected), and the unemployment rate ticked higher to 4.2%, investors will be watching this Wednesday's US CPI report with 2.7% expected up from 2.6% in the prior month.

The OPEC monthly report and the EIE Crude Oil reports come up this Wednesday.

Talk about Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta adopting Bitcoin to their treasuries will be hot as started the week above $100k for the first time ever. Amazon shareholders are advocating for at least 5% of company assets to be allocated to Bitcoin.

Trump continues to jaw jaw and it's working. Countries are responding to his tariff threats ahead of his Jan 20th inauguration. We could see more threats and political appointments this week.

Gold starts the week bullish after China resumed purchases. The PBoC bought 160,000 fine troy ounces last month. This was the first addition since April. The Middle-East Geopolitical premium on gold just resumed after the fall of the Syrian government over the weekend.

Reeves budget continues to hurt the UK economy. KPMG and REC, UK Report on Jobs: The index of demand for staff slid to 43.9, the lowest reading since August 2020, from October's 46.1. Only the GFC, Covid, and 9/11 aftermaths had worse numbers.

Top earnings to watch this week: Adobe, Oracle, https://t.co/fDFyEnLBZA, GameStop, Costco, Broadcom, Fergusson, and MongoDB.
