How we talk about God matters. Not only for our proclamation, but for the ethics we embody.
A god whose justice is violence will lead us to construct a violent world.
A God who vanquishes death with life will lead us to construct a world where violence itself is vanquished.
@jovial_cynic Yes! And he would have found hope there! God has not forsaked the suffering one.... Psalm 22:24 For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.
Good morning, beloved.
It’s not what you do that makes you worthy of love.
You’re worthy of love because of who you are.
You’re worthy of love just because you are.
Today is a great day to overcome evil with good.
Actually… the Bible DOES have welfare programs.
Every 7 yrs, skip the ROI & let the poor eat. (Ex 23:10)
Don’t harvest your entire field so that poor people & immigrants can eat. (Lev 19:9-10)
Sell your belongings for mutual aid (Acts 2:44-45)

this Valentine's Day, get your girl what she really wants: in place of a Dark Lord, make her a Queen! Not dark but beautiful and terrible as the Dawn! Treacherous as the Seas! Stronger than the foundations of the Earth! All shall love her and despair!
@DavidBanicaRO There's an Orthodox podcast I listen to where one of the fathers stated this as exactly what should be understood and my whole brain exploded.
“We can begin a whole new year together,” said Frog. “We will skip through the meadows and run through the woods. In the evenings we will sit right here on this porch and count the stars.”
“You can count them,” said Toad. “I’m going back to bed.”
"Grace doesn't sell; you can hardly even give it away, because it works only for losers and no one wants to stand in their line."
