Behind the Cairo handshake lies a strategic message:
Egypt seeks leverage. Eritrea seeks relevance.
But both find themselves orbiting Ethiopia’s rise, a reality neither can reverse.

We need to support Zohran Mamdani. If Mamdani loses, Zionism will win.
If all New Yorkers want to fight against Zionism and avoid losing their city to Israel, they should vote for Mamdani.
#Ethiopia to deploy newly trained “special anti-terror commando forces” nationwide
The Ethiopian #Federal_Police announced it is in the final phase of training and graduating “a large contingent” of Special Anti-Terror Commando forces that will “soon be deployed” across the country.
“We have reached the final stage of training and graduating a large number of Special Anti-Terror Commando forces,” said Commissioner General Demelash G/Michael during the first-quarter performance review of the current fiscal year plan.
According to the Commissioner General, the Federal Police ‘has completed preparations” to equip the new force with “advanced armaments” designed to enhance operational capacity and support the police’s broader mandate.
“The Special Anti-Terror Commando force, which has been undergoing intensive training for several months and is capable of utilizing this modern capacity, will soon graduate and be deployed to execute any type of mission in all parts of our country,” Federal Police quoted Demelash as saying.
He also that the Ethiopian Federal Police is strengthening its institutional capacity to carry out a range of policing operations. As part of this effort, the force will soon “operationalize a new short-, medium-, and long-range radio communication system”, which is expected to provide “reliable, nationwide connectivity” and enable the establishment of a dedicated communication network across the country.
Chief of General Staff of the Ethiopian National Defence Forces (ENDF) “Field Marshall” Berhanu Jula was once a POW in an EPLF Camp in Eritrea.
Despite Ethiopia’s brutality against Eritrea and it fighters, Sheabia kept him alive.
Former Ethiopian Prime Minister Tamirat Layne once stated that #Eritrea’s secession was not conducted through a proper legal or democratic process. He revealed that even he, as Prime Minister at the time, was not informed, saying the entire process was orchestrated solely by Meles Zenawi and Isaias Afwerki. 🇪🇹

The vast majority of Sudanese do not support a peace agreement with the RSF because it would both legitimise and preserve a foreign proxy genocidal militia in their Country so that it can terrorise them for generations to come.
You wouldn’t know that however, because Western mainstream media will almost only platform Sudanese who support an agreement with the militia; because that is the agreed upon Western policy. A policy that is more about keeping regional allies happy(particularly the UAE) than pursuing a course that is in the future interest of the Sudanese people.
They claim that the Sudanese Government/Army is rejecting an agreement with the RSF because shadowy war mongering Islamists within the State are vetoing it. When in reality Burhan’s entire mandate in the eyes of the Sudanese people comes from a promise to rid Sudan of this genocidal militia. Sudanese are not opposed to peace they crave peace but more so they want to be free from this militia’s terror. Sudanese have endured as the militia has displaced a 1/3 of them, looted their homes, killed their relatives and raped women in their communities with merciless glee. No society would tolerate the notion of living with these terrorists so why should Sudanese be expected to.
The only path to a sustainable peace that preserves Sudanese people’s basic human dignity is through the dismantlement of this genocidal militia and all those who actually care about the Sudanese people should support that effort.
A Voice of Courage in the Pan-African Parliament: Defying the Tyranny of the United Arab Emirates in Africa
During the Sixth Ordinary Session of the Pan-African Parliament, held in Midrand, South Africa, from November 3 to 6, 2025, under the theme “Justice, Unity, and Continental Renewal,” Somali scholar and parliamentarian Professor Abdi Ismail Samatar delivered a historic speech that shook the chamber. In his address, he delivered one of the strongest condemnations yet of the United Arab Emirates’ role in fueling wars across the continent, particularly its involvement in Sudan’s devastating conflict.
Speaking as both a Somali and an African, Professor Samatar recalled how his own country suffered for more than three decades due to the same dynamics now devastating Sudan, including foreign meddling, proxy wars, and the silence of African institutions. “I urge everyone here to support the people of Sudan,” he said, his voice resonating across the chamber.
The veteran academic reminded fellow parliamentarians that peace is a political project, warning against the illusion that politics and peace can be separated. “There are two kinds of politics,” he said. “One that builds peace, welfare, and unity, and another that divides people. To say politics has no place in peacemaking and tolerance is an illusion the Pan-African Parliament should not accept.”
Then came his most direct rebuke: Professor Samatar compared the UAE’s actions to the historical supporters of apartheid and the Rhodesian regime of Ian Smith, calling for the same moral clarity and continental response. “We should deal with that country exactly as we dealt with the supporters of apartheid,” he declared.
His call to action was unequivocal:
“Sanction them. Remove them from the African Union. Do not invite criminal regimes to our forums until they come to their senses.”
The statement drew applause from parliamentarians, marking a rare moment of unified defiance within the Pan-African Parliament, a body often accused of restraint in the face of foreign interference.
Professor Samatar’s words have since reverberated far beyond the chamber. At a time when the UAE continues to arm and finance the Rapid Support Militia (Janjaweed) in Sudan, the same group accused of committing massacres in Darfur and El-Fasher, his intervention has reignited a critical debate:
Can Africa truly speak of sovereignty and solidarity while allowing foreign powers to fund wars that destroy African nations?
This moment in the Pan-African Parliament was not just a speech. It was a challenge, a moral stand reminding Africa that silence in the face of tyranny is complicity.

Somalia’s Minister of Defense, Ahmed Fiqi, in an interview, spoke about the situation in Sudan.
The Minister confirmed that planes departing from Bosaso have been transporting supplies to Sudan, describing those involved as mercenaries.
This statement strengthens reports that Puntland’s leader, Said Abdullahi Deni, who governs the city of Bosaso, maintains close ties with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) a country believed to be providing military supplies through its aircraft to the RSF militia group, which has been accused of massacring civilians in Sudan.
Minister Fiqi also expressed solidarity with the Sudanese people affected by the conflict, noting that Sudan’s situation mirrors the difficult times Somalia once faced.
— There are three companies of mercenaries and technical personnel in Sudan. The overall target is to send 2,000 mercenaries to Sudan.
— Colombians who will use Chinese-made drones are being trained in the UAE.
— The mercenaries are transported from Colombia → France → Ethiopia, then taken to Bosaso in Somalia. From there they move to Nyala in Sudan via Chad, Libya, or Kenya.
— It is reported that 30 mercenaries were killed and their bodies were frozen in Bosaso.
— The militias are seizing the UN’s food aid.
