@messines100 is for those interested in commemorating the centenary in 2017 of the Battle of Messines Ridge and Passchendaele from an Irish perspective.
Our President Prof Subodh Dave has responded to Channel 4's documentary ‘The Great ADHD Myth?'.
He said: "The way we speak about neurodevelopmental conditions really matters. It can fuel harmful stigma experienced by people living with the condition and risk discouraging people from seeking the support and treatment they need."
There needs to be better understanding of the rise in ADHD diagnoses and more focus on ensuring people can access high-quality care & support.

We need to talk about Sam Curtis…
Sam Curtis is the best RB I've seen in the LOI.
No hyperbole, at 14 in 2020 he become the leagues youngest ever footballer playing for Shamrock Rovers II a team which had talent across the starting side and bench.
If you have the time take a look for yourself where the bulk of those players ended up…
At St Patrick’s Athletic it’s where he showed his levels: 60 games, 2 FAI Cups, PFAI Young Player of the Year 2023. Impressive for anyone, remarkable at 18. 🤯
Sheffield United won the battle for his signature in January 2024. Wilder, known for developing footballers, seemed natural for the Navan native.
2.5 years, 2 Wilder spells, still no real sign of fancying him: 2 senior appearances to show.
Loans followed: Peterborough United, St Johnstone, then Chesterfield. Peterborough was a big mental test, some moments of positivity, largely difficult, cut short in January.
He fell out of the Ireland U21 picture, despite being integral before. Said it then, I'll say it again: he should never have been dropped, everyone suffered in his absence.
At St Johnstone it didn't go much better.
Last season at Chesterfield it clicked: a debut goal in January and Sam ended up being an imperious fixture in their team.
He found his way back into Ireland U21 setup in March and the squad looked far more balanced for his inclusion.
Still no senior cap, to many he may seem far off it, but I see him as Irelands long term answer at RB.
He continued his Chesterfield form helping them into the League Two playoffs before Salford City, this season's eventual winners, ended the run.
Chesterfield proved he's above League 2, but he's now back with Sheffield United's U21s, scoring vs Swansea in the Professional Development League on Monday.
124+ career appearances, proven at multiple levels still stuck in academy football at 20, for a senior manager who's never given him a real chance.
Easier said than done but he needs to leave ASAP! Sheffield United see a talent but have no actual plan for his development.
Patience is needed…
But trust me, you'll be hearing the name Sam Curtis for a long time to come, bouncing back stronger than ever. 💪
Absolutely made up for Mason Melia! Might only have been a couple of minutes but there will be plenty more.
Having watched Umeh for the underage sides here's hoping he can be a monster.
Know nothing about Ndaba really but didnt look out of place. Hard to judge though
I want to thank Brendan O'Connor and his team at @RTERadio1 for allowing me to share my lived experience of an IVF journey as a single woman, so that it might give space and recognition to others on a similar path.
Deadlock over. The EU just cleared the way for the €90-billion-loan for Ukraine and the 20th sanctions package.
Russia’s war economy is under growing strain, while Ukraine is getting a major boost.
We will provide Ukraine what it needs to hold its ground, until Putin understands his war leads nowhere.
🇮🇪 𝗝𝗔𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗕𝗔𝗡𝗞𝗪𝗔𝗛 | International Debut
• Delighted to see James Abankwah make his Ireland debut tonight 💪
• Born in Ireland with Ghanaian roots & raised in Longford, his journey has been anything but straightforward. Countless trips up and down to Dublin as a young lad to play his underage football, doing schoolwork in the car and grabbing food on the go, all to give himself a chance.
Those early days at @CherryOrchardFC before earning his move to @stpatsfc, putting in the work every step of the way. That U15 League of Ireland title and cup double still fresh on my mind, a sign early on of what was coming. From there to Udinese & excelling with Watford this season.
Now he’s on the international stage... 🇮🇪 ⚽️
Sinn Féin had less than 15% electoral support through the troubles. The SDLP had twice that. And have these lads ever heard of the Good Friday Agreement. They complain about “poverty porn”, but they are living off “provo porn” which did woeful damage to their own community.
Just listened to Peter Thiel complain about how hard it is to have mega companies in Europe and how everyone wants to sell and go on vacation. I am glad Europe exists as a counterpoint to the rat race that is the US. I absolutely love how life can be slow here, how money isn’t everything. How in much of Europe no one cares if you are a venture capitalist with a gazillion dollars to spend. How people don’t need to work themselves to death to prove a point. How on a Wednesday afternoon you can find people just enjoying the sun and not fretting about deliverables. How trains work. How guns are not everywhere. How road rage doesn’t not immediately lead to someone shooting you in the chest. How cities are walkable. How people are not obsessed with marriage and who pays on dates. How little purity culture there is. How people are not terrified of a naked body in public. Because in the end after you make all that money, after you build that mega company, what is it all for? What is all your success worth if in this brief life you cannot enjoy the things that make life worth living, the little things, the lakes and rivers and oceans, the mountains, the colors of nature, the taste of food, the smiles of humans who are not all judging each other based on which patch of land they own, which piece of equipment they have, and what imaginary figures they have in banks? What is human progress for if not for the enjoyment of this one brief life? And yes Europe has its problems. A lot of them. But it would be a disaster if Europe became like the US.
Conor Pope experiences the Hot Box sauna centre at Bolands Mills on Barrow Street, Dublin.
“In a dimly lit room in the shadow of the warehouse where De Valera’s gunmen once took a stand for Ireland, a woman from Greece starts beating me with leaves,” writes Pope.

In today’s letters to the Editor, Aisling Mullally – a primary school teacher from Dublin – writes that ‘childhood in our country is in a state of crisis’.
The Only Way is Essex this weekend.
Be there to support the lads, or if you can't make it, make sure you're at the first home match in November:
