Now seen an video where this fireball is visible for a full 19 seconds so I suspect this is not a natural meteor but a debris re-entry of some sort. Experts like @planet4589 and others may be able to confirm…
📹#Fireball| Compilation of 17 videos that capture the fireball observed in the United Kingdom and Ireland on the night of September 14, 2022.

I think we should give three cheers to the Wilcock family of #Winchcombe. They were determined the #ukMeteorite should not go to a dealer, but to the @NHM_London ...to science. https://t.co/i3cTeI6xSU "We're absolutely thrilled... we can be a small part" in this story. 👏👏👏
It's so important to science to retrieve fallen #meteorites correctly and early to avoid further contamination from the terrestrial environment. And more so for this one as it's a #carbonaceous#chondrite. A very rare type and highly important to science. #ukMeteorite#spacerocks
If, like this funky chap, you find a piece, please do avoid touching it, collect in foil or a clean sandwich bag, keep away from magnets, and get in touch with us at @NHM_Meteorites - we'll curate the specimens carefully and make them available to scientists all over the world ☄️
If you were wondering why half the UK #planetary#science twitter just went dead for a week there is nothing wrong with your feed do not adjust your settings... we have exciting news: https://t.co/dgeaUzeDWp
Introducing ... The Winchcombe Meteorite. A pristine carbonaceous chondrite. Fell over England with a bang on 28 Feb, recovered in Gloucestershire soon after. Image courtesy of the @NHM_London@NHM_Meteorites#FRIPON @UKMeteorNetwork @FireballsUK#meteorite
After 5 years of work setting up our #fireball camera network and working together with the other amazing networks that make up the UK Fireball Alliance and the awesome scientists at @CurtinSpaceSci we have achieved our goal of recovering the first UK #meteorite for 30 years
On my way to Antarctica on an expedition to collect meteorites for science. How does it feel to spend six weeks in a tent at -40°C? Here’s a great podcast on what to expect: https://t.co/8lw0wKlM6h

Check out this unique Moon rock that was picked up from the Moon's surface by #Apollo12 astronauts. You can interact with 3D models of the rock and learn about its remarkable story here: https://t.co/s5gokHlREn
Really interesting read. Considering NWA 801 was found in 2001 and Murchison fell in 1969, who knows what other secrets similar #meteorites hid and will be discovered in the future. Aguas Zarcas from Cuba this year springs to mind!
Limerick Astronomy Club have an excellent talk coming up from Matthew Parks, who will be sharing his insights into Irish Meteorites. If you are interested in space/meteorites then why not come along and join us. All Members welcome - Nonmembers €5 admission
You may want to pay attention during the Alpha Monocerotids on the night of the 21st into the morning of the 22nd. There may be an outburst!

💫Monday's meteor showed up on some of our satellite products that report lightning flashes! NASA has issued some info about the fireball, including that was about the size of a basketball & it traveled 70 miles through the atmosphere! 💫😮 https://t.co/8Ib6x7ihgN
