Back in the day, I watched a lot of football matches, but nowadays I find them boring unless it’s a high quality game. World Cup matches are by far the lowest quality games. Why do people who never watch football suddenly start watching them?

Bankroll Management is the most important concept in poker.

Not one of the most important ... the most important. If you don’t respect it relentlessly, the game will eventually humble you.

You have no idea what variance is capable of doing to you.

“Poker is easy to learn, but takes a lifetime to master.”
And it’s true - because once the variance, emotions, and swings hit you for real, you’ll understand how little control you actually have.

Bankroll management is your guard. It protects you from your own ego whispering, “You’re good enough. You can take this shot.” It keeps you grounded when everything in you wants to gamble.

When you follow proper BRM, you play with more calm, more confidence, and far less fear. You stop stressing about the financial impact of every decision.

You have a true edge with a comfortable 100-200 buy in BRM (depending if you play CG, Tournaments (regular speed or turbo, PKOs etc..).

You finally allow your skill - not your desperation - to show.

And let me tell you something from years in this game:
I have never met a player who ruined their career by being too conservative.
But I’ve seen countless careers destroyed by players being overly aggressive with their bankroll.

Respect variance.
Respect your bankroll.
Or the game will teach you the hard way.
