Some thoughts from attending #MuseumsAdvocacy2021as a newbie:
1) Advocacy is a two way street. Legislators and museums, have goals to meet
2) Combine numbers w stories to make an impact
3) Thank you's are very important (and an effective way to add to reinforce messaging)

We advocate for making this CARES Act provision permanent. A universal charitable deduction democratizes giving and incentivizes ALL taxpayers to contribute, regardless of income. #museumadvocacyday2021
The CARES Act established a limited and temporary deduction for non-itemizers. The most recent report from the Fundraising Effectiveness Project shows overall charitable giving increased 7.6% during the first 9 months of 2020 compared to 2019. #museumadvocacyday
