@MDCPS Parents are advocating for better Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) in Miami Dade schools and on school buses to help keep students and teachers healthy.
Indoor air can be 2–5x more polluted than outdoor air, impacting kids’ health, focus, and attendance. The American Lung Association offers a Clean Air School Challenge with tools to help schools improve air quality.

URGENT: FL HB 1071 amendment would force all schools to give ICE campus access. Schools should be safe learning spaces.

This amendment was adopted into the bill and will be heard Wednesday in the PreK 12 budget House committee. Call the office of Rep. Trabulsy and all members of that committee and tell them to strike this language mandating Florida school districts to cooperate with ICE.
After my 1st infection, I lost memories of family vacations among other things. My family would talk about places we have visited that I had no recollection of them at all. I was shaken by this #LongCOVID symptom. I forgot directions… And I was gaslit by multiple specialists. 😭
Analysis of 465K EHR reveals: A 2nd COVID infection can triple the risk of myocarditis, the most frequent #LongCOVID-associated condition in pediatric reinfections. Inflammation of the heart muscle can severely impair cardiac function and become fatal. https://t.co/1lm67VyvP5
Children aren't little adults. Their faster breathing rate makes them MORE vulnerable to air pollution from smog & fires. Higher temps mean more asthma attacks & diseases. We must protect their health. Learn more:

Millions still suffer from long COVID. New federal efforts target the crisis through research and advocacy. Clean air tools like HEPA purifiers and better ventilation can cut virus spread and improve health. @MDCPS
It’s been more than two years since the pandemic ended, but millions of Americans are still living with long COVID. That’s a catchall term for COVID symptoms lasting at least three months after first testing positive. Symptoms can vary from person to person, but they range from mild to severe to physically disabling.
Recently, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. kicked off new efforts to address long COVID with a roundtable discussion of doctors, researchers and patient advocates.
To discuss these efforts, @AliRogin spoke to two members of the long COVID community: @MichaelPelusoMD, a physician and researcher at UC San Francisco who attended that roundtable meeting and @meighanstone, the executive director of @LCCampaign.

Good Air-Score in this classroom. The ventilation works well and the windows are open when necessary. Teaching in a safe and comfortable environment like this should be the norm in all schools.
On this National Day of Remembrance for Indian Boarding Schools, we pause to honor the resilience of survivors and remember those who were lost. Let's come together to raise awareness, support healing and stand in solidarity with Indigenous communities as they navigate this shared history.
Jump into the magical world of reading with your child and encourage early literacy through The Children’s Trust Books for Free program. 📚💫
In partnership with the @MiamiBookFair at @MDCollege, our goal is to place books directly into the hands of children, books they can keep and enjoy reading with their families over and over again. Each year, we deliver more than 100,000 new and gently used books to over 100 public bookshelves located in places in our community, such as pediatric clinics, laundromats, and WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) offices. These books are FREE to take by children and their caregivers. 💚 🤝

Today’s ACIP meeting promoted false claims and misguided information about vaccines. AAP will continue stepping up and working with our local, state and federal partners to make sure every child in every community continues to have access to immunizations.
