Win den Domkop cannot compare like for like, nor get his numbers straight.
ICE cars also use metals mines from the earth. Or is ICE cars propelled by magic?
Brine lithium does not require a gram of earth to be moved.
LFP batteries does not use Cobalt.
Dit is een Tesla batterij.
Om het te maken heb je nodig:
12 ton steen voor lithium
5 ton kobalt mineralen
3 ton mineraal voor nikkel
12 ton kopererts
Verplaats 250 ton grond om te verkrijgen:
12 kg lithium
30 pond stuivers
22 kg mangaan
15 pond kobalt
100 kg rammen

From an economic perspective, you are damaging Canada. EVs provide energy security, they insulate our economy from the effects of orange men dropping bombs. (Eastern Canada imports fossil fuels).
@BardishKW,
This is unacceptable. We cannot have the best tech, and safest vehicles in the world blocked from Canada.
From a climate perspective this is catastrophic. This is the best value offer of all EVs and now you further hamstring competition?!
@CFifeKW
It looks like the federal government is making another bad EV move, blocking further high demand Tesla 3 imports, even though the available quota has not been used up, and other Chinese automakers are not yet ready to enter the market.
Does anybody know more about this?
@TSLAFanMtl@MarkJCarney Yes.
Lift the import limit to 1 million vehicles and force local manufacturers to compete, or allow the Chinese to manufacture here.
The scammers Pinker, Schama, Montebullshit, etc. have been playing the Hasbara manipulation game of disputing the label genocide to obscure the reality.
By making you doubt whether the word technically applies, they lead you to believe that the horror itself does not exist.
@AaliyahW_74 Yes, China, USA, Europe import the copper and turn it into motors, wire, EVs, solar panels, mining equipment and selling it to whoever wants to buy.
Would be nice if DRC/Angola/Tanzania could turn the copper into products...
Canada needs run-offs. It will reduce the risk of fringe parties winning. When you reduce the risk of fringe parties winning, you will pull all the non-fringe parties to the center.
Spot on from @acoyne on CBC.
First-past-the-post means a separatist party can win a majority with 30% and plunge us into a unity threatening separation referendum.
Proportional representation means such decisions require broad majority consensus, not the whims of one party.
Doctors for Safe Cycling - you know, the people who treat the consequences of unsafe streets in the ER - gathered in Toronto today to protest provincial interference in our street infrastructure.
Spending $43 million to make our streets less safe will put even more pressure on our ERs. They know it.

In 2015 I drove a Model S P85 across remote parts of Canada scouting Supercharger sites. Range anxiety was real, and I sometimes turned the heat off in winter just to make it to the next charger.
Night and day now. Those same routes have 3+ Superchargers between destinations that you can skip, where there used to be none.
A charging company would have stopped at Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. @TeslaCharging completed the Trans-Canada route in 2019 and kept adding sites along the main corridors and secondary routes so people can get home confidently for the holidays.
Canada is beautiful and vast, and we're far from done electrifying it, powered by local hydro. Thank you to our Canadian customers!
"The IEA’s new report borrows many of the same concepts, and lists the benefits of electrification in the same order: energy security first, competitiveness second, and emissions third (think how different this is to the moral argument for taking climate action)."
The Argument For Clean Energy Has Flipped
"Last week, the @IEA published a report called Electrification. Its central thesis can be traced back to 2009, when a Stanford engineer named Mark Jacobson wrote an article for Scientific American presciently arguing that we could power 100% of the planet with renewables. At the time, this was a somewhat niche position."

@elerianm Honest, humble question:
Is the framing of "reliable, long term buyer" antiquated?
30 years back, Japans GDP were much closer to that of the US. (Have not check, but it could have been larger than the fed debt). Now US debt > OECD GDP ex US. Japan can't make a dent anymore?
On Friday night nearly 1000 people on bikes rode west to the site of Ford's first incoming bike lane removals, Bloor just east of Islington.
Strength in numbers. #criticalmass
A sure sign of a fossil fuel lobby group linked account is when they claim wind turbines damage the countryside while ignoring that fossil fuels absolutely annihilate it.
