Just been reading the account of the father of the little girl who died trying to cross the channel. If he and his family had remained in Belgium or Sweden his daughter would still be alive. What was the attraction of the UK. Why didnβt he stay in Belgium or Sweden?
Sorry to hear the news about Bill Turnbill. Along with Suzanne Reid he brought a calm sometimes funny, sometimes serious approach to presenting the news. He was very respectful towards those he interviewed particularly politicians unlike the current presenters
@MarkSimpson1980 Sorry to hear your news Mark. You will certainly have improved their media operations. What a pity you cannot return to Pools because their media operation is appalling.- mostly done via Twitter. Best wishes for the future- rhere must be a club needing your skills and expertise.
Why do refugees fleeing their country travel across Europe and several safe countries and pay to cross the channel in flimsy boats? Surely they should seek asylum in the first country?
@sarahrowntree27 @NickLoughIin I agree. The NWC has been an important reason for the atmosphere in the ground and the success of the club on the field. But the club also has to consider health and safety. To withdraw the influential support of the NWC could impact on the teamβs performance !Nobody wants!
@BBCDkennedy I disagree that social services and the NHS take their decisions regarding individuals in their care from the government. They base their decisions on what is best for those in their care. The parents / daughter could have brought up the child had their wanted had wanted to!
@BBCDkennedy@rburgessbbc Surely this was not a government decision but the parents of the young mother. The parents didnβt want their young daughter to bring up the child nor did they want to do it either. This was what happened then.
