Saponin is a component of Matrix-M, Novavax's adjuvant, which is not only safe, it has been also approved by the WHO for their new Malaria drug, as well. The EUA is only because the FDA slow walked Novavax all the way.

@BenVerlander If money doesn't increase your odds of winning, why do the teams that have more, spend it? If money doesn't matter, it should be super easy to get everyone to agree to a spending cap and minimum. Of course money matters. It's not even worth an argument.
