Jeff Bezos explains the stock-is-not-company rule behind Amazon's $113 to $6 collapse.
"Our stock peaked somewhere around $113."
"Then after the internet bubble busted open, our stock went down to $6."
"It went from $113 to $6 in less than a year."
"My annual shareholder letter that year starts with a one word sentence."
"Ouch."
Then Bezos gives the rule most operators forget in a crash:
"The stock is not the company, and the company is not the stock."
While the outside price was collapsing, he was watching the inside machine:
"Number of customers."
"Profit per unit."
"Defects."
"Every single thing about the business was getting better and fast."
The useful idea: do not let the market's scoreboard replace your operating dashboard.
A price can scream panic while the business is quietly getting healthier.

They ask Warren Buffett in an interview:
"What is true wealth"?
Warren Buffet: "True wealth is not having the biggest house or the most expensive car.
It is having enough money to live comfortably while being free to choose how you spend your time, who you work with, and the life you want to live.
In the end, time and freedom are the greatest forms of wealth".

things men slowly learn as they grow older:
- no woman loves you for who you are, she only loves you for what you can do for her
- nobody is coming to save you
- discipline beats motivation
- money solves many problems
- silence is better than arguing
- nobody cares until you are rich or dead
- respect is earned, not begged for
- no woman is ever yours
- you can do everything right and still lose
- your colleagues are not your friends
life gets easier when you accept these truths
I used to pity the men who carried the most, until i noticed the men who carried nothing at all. those are the actual casualties. God loads some men with things that should kill them and it leaves them dense and awake and full of this kind of terrible dignity. you can sense it on you, would never envy them but you would never dismiss them either. and then there are the men that nothing ever really happened to. God let them float, and if floating sounds good to you, you haven't met one. they are the most barren, empty, exhausting people you will ever sit next to
you need to hit escape velocity for it to make any sense. you need to see see your abs and make money on the internet and have a positive interaction with a stranger. you need to write and go viral and eat well and get healthy and dress well and be complimented. once you see the result, the effort is easy. the hardest part is getting into orbit.
Elon Musk's father once made him sit and listen to him talk for four straight hours about how pathetic he was. Elon was a child.
Errol Musk would deliver these sessions regularly. No interruptions allowed. No response permitted. Just hours of a grown man telling his son that he was worthless, that he would never amount to anything, that he was a disappointment.
Elon has said his father is the most evil person he's ever met. Not difficult. Not strict. Evil.
When journalists ask him how he handles the pressure of running six companies, the billions in debt, the public attacks, the lawsuits, the government investigations, he doesn't fully explain it. But the answer is sitting in that chair as a child. After surviving that, a rocket explosion is just engineering. A stock crash is just numbers. A Senate hearing is just noise.
The tolerance for pain that built a $1.3 trillion empire was forged in the worst possible way. And he carries it every single day.

Zinc does increase sex drive which can make your semen retention journey harder, but if you can get past your increased urges, you'll seriously become the man you want to be ridiculously fast if you combine enough zinc, semen retention, working out (heavy lifting and sprinting increase testosterone more than any other workout), if you decrease or erase your sugar intake (because consuming sugar increases estrogen), and if you meditate to lower cortisol which kills testosterone. I can't even describe how fast your transformation will be.
The wounded ox does not bellow but lowers its great stupid beautiful head and pulls the plow harder than before, so it is with those wretched stubborn souls who have tasted every bitter root this life can grow and still choose to feed others from whatever is left in their trough
I’m America First all the way but through my study of history I’ve really come to admire the British Empire and what it achieved over the course of centuries. It was undoubtedly a force for good in the world, and the men they sent out to colonize the planet were some of the most noble, brave, and manly to ever live. That’s why it pains me to see this once mighty nation brought to its knees by the barbarian hordes — an army of invaders who didn’t, and couldn’t, defeat them on the battlefield, but were rather let in the front door and given free rein to rape British daughters and slaughter British sons in the street. Very sad to see. What a tragic conclusion. And so totally preventable.
If you let them take your guns they will allow your daughters, sisters, wives and mothers to be raped and there will be nothing you can do about it other than throw trash bins and some bottles at the police for a couple days.
They know nothing serious will happen.
They know people will eventually move on and go back to accepting it because they don't have the option to cause any real damage to the persons responsible.
So, they'll riot for a bit and slowly go back to their jobs and mortgages and football games.
This is why you need a gun.
God honors his favorites by crushing them, drops the whole insufferable wretched weight of purpose on their spines until they either snap into shape or snap entirely. the unburdened, those buoyant grinning vapid little phantoms drifting through their own lives without a single crushing thing to carry, they are forgotten
Fast, lift, sprint, stretch, and meditate.
Build, sell, write, create, invest, and own.
Read, reflect, love, seek truth, and ignore society.
Make these habits. Say no to everything else.
Avoid debt, jail, addiction, disgrace, shortcuts, and media.
Relax. Victory is assured.
I truly believe that within 50 years, Catholics will be singled out as those “weirdos” who do two things:
1) have special needs children—because everyone else will have already bought into the belief that children with disabilities ought to be killed in the womb.
2) visit and help the aged and infirm—because everyone else will euthanize them at the first moment of unavoidable suffering.
While postmodern society goes headfirst into the “throwaway culture” and the “culture of death”, Catholics will be distinguished as the ones who still believe in the dignity of life.
22 yrs ago today, after a long zoning dispute with local officials that ruined his business, welder Marvin Heemeyer had enough & created the Killdozer.
He destroyed the mayor’s house, the judge’s house, town hall, the police station, & the bank - while avoiding hurting civilians or their property.
Happy Killdozer Day to those who celebrate 🎊
