@PC_DaybyDay I had similar, except mine was not long after I passed my course. I misjudged a gap and clipped someone’s wing mirror on a blue run, stopped and did the necessary. Knocked my confidence for a few days after but it’s all experience. Good luck for your test 👍🏼
On the plus side, My Sgt spoke to me recently and said I was getting on well, asking the right questions etc and seemed to be a good officer, one he’s happy to have on his team. So that’s good 👍🏼
Seen a post today that rang true. “5% blue lights and sirens with 95% investigation and paperwork.” I’m still less than a year in, really love it still, even with being stressed about my high workload. I’m still learning, I’ll get there but I do feel I’m letting public down atm.
@PcNeenaw As a recent tutored officer, found it really useful to discuss a job en route, work out a plan to deal with it, obvs things can change but at least I had an idea on arrival to get involved. Really helped in decision making and getting me to think instead of watching all the time.
The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.
I don’t post much, however today was a great day. After a 10 years chasing my dream job, today, I swore in as a full time PC and was handed my warrant card. Proud of myself and look forward to my future 😊
Bravery of the absolute highest order! 😳 THIS sort of thing really should be what the Queen's Honours is for.
Whoever you are, we're lucky to have you wearing a uniform. 💙
Just over 300 hours volunteering this year. For a Full time shift working dispatcher and family man, I’m quite proud of myself. Hopefully next year I can make more use of ESP hours to boost this 👮🏻♂️🚔 Happy New Year everyone.
Horribly misleading headline from the Telegraph. The ‘mistake’ is entirely the Government’s:
- the mistake of austerity
- the mistake of cutting 44,000 officers & staff
- the mistake of dismantling neighbourhood policing
This is on the Government. All of it.
Policing has been under a dark cloud, and rightly so, however underneath that cloud are also shining lights, and we must celebrate those shining lights, those officers are the stars of today/tomorrow, and I want those officers to know that they are valued 👏🏼💙 #ThankYou#Policing
