The real reason high IQ third worlders leave their countries and generally don’t go back and build them up isn’t because they just want an easy life in the west, but because being in a tribal low IQ collectivist society that heavily punishes individuality is an insufferable hell for the sharp and beautiful mind, for the potent soul relegated to the arbitrary rituals and social bullshit of simple minded petty people who will lose their minds if you don’t adhere to custom.

If you wish to maximally develop yourself as a human, you will not do it in a society full of strict rules and expectations on conduct, with hundreds of people looking for a handout whenever you succeed, subjecting you to their petty social politics. You will do it in a society that is minimally invasive and says “if you are capable, then you can” (within reason)

The poetry is third world countries are often more efficient if you know the right people to hook you up, less red tape, less protections and bureaucracy. Less of a big deal or less difficult to own a gun when it’s not strictly legal, things like this - but on an actual personal development basis - socially, the neverending meet-ups and fake social events and extended family politics where you have to tiptoe around the fragility of morons and egotistical elders is not really appealing to them.

I’ve thought about brain drain arguments and at this point I’ve concluded the west is basically a refuge for third world outliers who want to escape the hellholes they’re born into so they can actually enjoy some semblance of civilization and maximally develop themselves without being held back by over the top rigid social obligations, corruption, fuck all social mobility and other endless tribal bullshit.

These cultures are very good at stifling the individual to the point they suppress themselves - and this in large part is why they are backward people. Now the west is too far the other way (in its current state) so the golden mean is somewhere between the middle of these two extremes with a slight bias towards individualism. You need individualism bias if you’re going to have eccentricity tolerance, and you need eccentricity tolerance if you’re going to make a place hospitable if not at the very least bearable for the most intelligent of your population.

The Quran tells the story of Cain and Abel, but with what feels like the “shortened and remixed edition as usual.”

First thing I noticed: it never mentions their names. Without the Bible (or later Islamic traditions), how would anyone know who Cain and Abel even are, or which brother killed the other?

Then there’s the sacrifice. The Quran says they offered sacrifices, but doesn’t tell us what they offered. Without the Bible, you wouldn’t know that Abel brought the firstborn of his flock while Cain brought produce from the ground.

And then comes the surprising part: Allah sends a crow 🐦‍⬛ to teach the murderer how to bury his brother’s body. Why would Allah need to teach a human how to bury his brother’s corpse?

Compare that with the Bible’s account. The Bible names the brothers, explains what each one offered, gives the reason one sacrifice was accepted and the other rejected, records God’s warning before the murder, describes the murder itself, and details the judgment placed on Cain afterward.

The Bible’s consistency on the theme of sacrifice. The Bible doesn’t mention sacrifices here and then forget about them. From Abel’s accepted offering, through Abraham, the tabernacle/temple system, the prophets, and right into the New Testament where Jesus becomes the final, perfect sacrifice, is one of the strongest evidences of its divine inspiration and unified storyline..

The Bible’s account feels complete and woven into a much larger, coherent narrative across centuries of Scripture. The Quran’s version takes the story, strips key parts, changes the emphasis (more on non-retaliation and a universal moral lesson for the Jews), and inserts new details..
