I think we are in one of those classic phases of irrational exuberance. Everywhere I look, markets are embracing hype over fundamentals.
Take hot stocks like Hims & Hers $HIMS, Palantir $PLTR, MicroStrategy $MSTR and GameStop $GME - trading at sky-high valuations, driven more by narratives than numbers. Hims & Hers is soaring on growth hype, Palantir on its AI-driven future, and MicroStrategy has essentially become a Bitcoin $BTC leverage play, moving with BTC’s price action. And GameStop? It’s hot again because of a strategic business change: they’re going to buy Bitcoin and... well, do nothing with it. That’s the new game plan.
Then there’s the IPO madness. Newsmax $NMAX soared 2,000% in two days, reaching a $20B valuation—for a company making just $150M in sales. Meanwhile, CoreWeave $CRWV (a cloud provider) is suddenly the next big thing. And let’s not forget the Waton Financial IPO $WTF - up 400% in a day, with a ticker that feels almost symbolic of today’s market.
And of course, #Bitcoin. The pressure to buy is relentless. It’s sold as the “opportunity of the century.” Michael Saylor posts AI-generated pictures of himself daily, urging people to buy. Trump-branded #crypto coins? Down 86% from $75 to $10. His sons investing, even launching a Bitcoin mining business, and the U.S. government creating a crypto reserve—all adding fuel to the speculative fire. Now even Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock $BLK, is saying Bitcoin could replace the U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency.
On top of it all, there’s this constant “buy the dip” mentality - as if markets can never turn bearish and every pullback is just another buying opportunity. No risk, just endless upside.
This isn’t a market moving rationally. It’s full-blown mania, the era of wonderful nonsens. And history tells us these moments don’t end well.

$GME has declined 23% today - a movement that reflects the market’s gradual recognition of the company’s lack of intrinsic value.
From a fundamental standpoint, GameStop no longer possesses the earnings power, competitive positioning, or clear strategy necessary to justify its valuation. Its recent price levels appear driven more by speculation than by sound analysis. Investors would be wise to distinguish between market excitement and true investment merit.
So his entire "revolutionary" thesis rests 100% on the 21m supply cap. That's it. That's the entire reason he thinks Bitcoin is great. This is a very weak thesis that there's at least two problems with:
1) The cap is set in the code. It can be removed. Many of the core devs have already expressed an interest in removing this cap to keep the network funded long-term. Bitcoin still faces a very important test: what happens when the block rewards go to zero? No one knows, because it hasn't happened yet. Will the network maintain its current level of security with tx fees alone? By the math, that would require a $50-$100 average transaction fee. Are people really going to pay that?
2) BTC might be capped to 21m, but there's no cap to the number of crypto currencies that can be created. So what makes BTC special? Why is everyone going to use it over ETH, SOL, XRP, KAS, or XMR? ETH and SOL have smart contracts, XRP and KAS are much faster and cheaper to use than Bitcoin, and XMR has robust on-chain privacy built in.
I really dont know why people think this guy is so smart. Yes, Bitcoin has a 21m supply cap. That hardly guarantees it a future as the universally accepted new "digital gold". The US government could create USCoin and give it a supply cap, allow you pay your taxes with it, and declare it legal tender - how does Bitcoin survive that future? It probably doesnt.
Calling others "yellow bananas" for not buying #Bitcoin is shortsighted, irrational, and irresponsible. Blind faith in hype doesn't make you enlightened - it makes you reckless. Real wealth isn’t built on tunnel vision and blind conviction.
I cannot believe how easy Bitcoin has made getting rich…so easy.
Why everyone is not buying and holding Bitcoin is beyond me.
Even .01 of a Bitcoin is going to be priceless in two years…. and maybe make you very rich.
Sure Bitcoin goes up and down….but so does real life.
There are only 1 or 2 million Bitcoin left to be mined…and the price will go as Raoul Pal describes as into the “Banana Zone.”
Don’t be a yellow banana. Open your eyes and your mind and listen to people like Raoul Pal, Michael Saylor, Anthony Pompliano, and many others, then follow content on Bitcoin Zella and look into the future of money.
Please don’t be a yellow banana and miss the easiest time in history to become rich and financially free.
Take care.
If $BTC's value were truly constant and only dollars were losing value, then #Bitcoin would only go up in a straight, predictable line. But that’s clearly not the case - look at $BTC price chart.
“Bitcoin only has as much value as the next buyer is willing to attach to it.”
No, the value buyers attach to it is always the same.
But the $ amount keeps going up because the value of those dollars is always going down.
#Bitcoin $BTC does not generate income, so it can't have a yield. This whole "Bitcoin yield" narrative is misleading - it's an attempt to present something that doesn't exist. Be careful. When people start inventing financial terms without any fundamental basis, it often ends catastrophically for those who listen without critically evaluating what's being said. $MSTR
In the first 49 days of Q2, $MSTR delivered a 4.8% BTC Yield—driving $2.7B in BTC $ Gain. We now hold $60.7B in BTC and have generated $7.7B in BTC $ Gain YTD.
With so many people buying #crypto, BlackRock isn’t about to sit on the sidelines - those same people are their clients. They profit from serving them. If the demand is for crypto, they'll offer it. It’s purely business. Honestly, if people started trading rocks or tree leaves, BlackRock would probably launch an ETF for that too.

#Bitcoin $BTC per se is an interesting idea - really. But the price aspect is what’s dangerous. And 99.9% of people are into Bitcoin mainly because of the price action and the hope of becoming rich. How is the price determined? Through promotion, marketing, and hype. When Saylor and a few other major players stop buying and relentlessly promoting it, do you really think retail speculators will drive the price up? Personally, I don’t think so.
@Mia2024918 I totally agree with you, especially with: 'Its function hasn’t changed, but people’s perception has.' Perception is key. And you can never know for sure if that same perception will shift again, sending #Bitcoin $BTC from $100K back to $1.
@Mia2024918 I agree with everything you said. It's just that it's impossible to truly price #Bitcoin $BTC. It was doing the same thing when it was worth $1 as it is now at $100,000. So why did the price change? Why is it worth 100,000 times more now?
@saylor Saying 'there will be no #Bitcoin left' is misleading. It’ll always exist, just increasingly concentrated in fewer hands or more/less expensive to acquire.
@Andy05306772551@ObiBenKinobi1@saylor Many people want to get rich, and that's why they buy Bitcoin - not because of its value per se, but because its price has historically risen.
