While analyzing data, I stumbled across a gem from a 70+ year old interviewee. His words really hit home for me as I strive to reconnect with my mission of democratizing knowledge. More than anything, they reinforce my duty to those who entrusted me with their stories.
While taking in the news, I found myself asking: "What's the point?" Most things on my plate feel insignificant when I look at the big picture. I woke up w/Nina Simone on my mind and decided to spend the day reconnecting w/my purpose. Maybe her words will resonate w/ some of you.
My Bday Wish: I'm raising money for a small scholarship I created to help racially/ethnically diverse, 1stGen college-going students facing financial hardships. I've raised $70 but still need $430 to reach my goal!
Would u consider making a donation? 🙏https://t.co/3MtI4vDmSR

PLEASE DONATE 🙏 Friends, I created & run a small scholarship that supports 1stGen, racially/ethnically diverse, college-going students in San Diego. I use my grad student stipend from @ucdavis but these students deserve more than what I alone can give. https://t.co/UPADYyFPUQ
It was great to catch up with research collaborators @Centrala_space & reflect on @Becoming_Adult project-6 years on! Evidence of enduring relationships forced by qualitative research & need for much broader conception of 'impact' & sustained ethics of care over space & time.
