Lorenzo Salgado Araujo worked for 35 years in the US.

He was pursuing legal status.

He’s not white, or an American citizen… so there’s less publicity & outrage.

ICE agents shot and killed an unarmed civilian in Houston, Texas. The victim was a construction worker, a father of three US citizens, had lived in the US for 35 years and was applying for a work permit. He panicked and tried to flee when he mistook masked, armed ICE agents for thieves.

Across displacement camps, the community kitchens that so many families have relied on are closing as funding disappears. For hundreds of thousands of people, those meals were the only guaranteed food they would receive each day.

The Sameer Project is feeling that pressure too.

Our community kitchen is now operating at just 50% of its previous capacity because donations have dropped so dramatically. If support does not increase, we may be forced to cut production by another 50%, leaving even more families without a hot meal.

After more than 1,000 days of devastation, this is not the time for hunger to add to the catastrophe.

In Gaza, prices continue to rise, and the siege continues to deprive us of the most basic necessities of life. That is why we need $900 to provide him with the essentials: a few baby clothes, a small crib where he can sleep safely, and a small box to keep his belongings.
