Reasonable selection of waders @BelvideBirding West end this morning. Greenshank, Redshank, Common Sand, 3 Dunlin and several Ringed Plover. No sign of any terns
@bobhazell@STWDraycote@Draycotebirding I enjoyed our chat in the hide today Bob, while watching the Ferruginous Duck plus the huge numbers of Great Crested Grebe. And thanks for advising where to find the Yellow Wagtails, I eventually found a juvenile amongst the Pied Wags.
@ajac0712 Although I spent quite a bit of time in Brier Dene, searching the area within 100m of the steps, no sign of the YBW. Plenty of movement from the tit flock but no warblers. Best sight of the weekend was the huge flock of Golden Plover at St Mary’s Island, then a pair of Stonechat
@BelvideBirding Scaup and Lesser Scaup, Black-necked Grebe and Tundra Bean Goose all in the same locations this morning @Belvide. Also Pintail on north shore.
Apologies for the poor quality of these digiscoped images from the dam @BelvideBirding yesterday. I had these down as Grey Wagtails but another birder advised they were Yellow. Thoughts please?
@Uptonwarren yesterday. Good to see the regulars plus the pair of Med gulls and a kingfisher. Also good numbers of dangling caterpillars, at Moors and Flashes, but can anyone tell me what they are please?
Just N of Seahouses harbour @NTBirdClub plenty of Turnstone plus 8 Purple Sandpipers. Lovely walk to Bamburgh this morning. Stopped to watch Sandwich Terns resting on the shoreline, then noticed 4 Little Terns amongst them - what a difference in size! Sadly no camera with me.
