It was a great honour to speak about my professional career at the request of the Széchenyi István University (Győr, Hungary), where I started my legal studies almost 20 years ago. Thanks for the honorable invitation. Please find the interview below:

It was an honor to meet Ádám Fischer, the world-famous Hungarian conductor and winner of the Kossuth Prize, who conducted the Danish Philharmonic Orchestra this evening with the fantastic music of Mozart, Handel, and Monteverdi.
In my meeting with 🇭🇺 Interior Minister Sándor Pintér, I thanked Hungary for hosting the 7th session of the Meeting of the Parties to the Protocol on Water & Health on 5-7 November.
Hungary’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing this Protocol, which supports universal access to safe water, sanitation & hygiene – and protects people from the growing health risks linked to climate change & environmental pressures.
I appreciated the Minister Pintér’s strong support and readiness to share Hungary’s expertise with other countries – including in immunization, and in using digital health & AI to improve early diagnosis & management of cardiovascular diseases, breast & colon cancer, and dementia.
We also discussed follow-up to Hungary’s EU Presidency, its continued role in the EU Cardiovascular Health Plan, and the country’s efforts to keep cardiovascular health high on the European agenda.
Looking forward to strengthening this partnership as we reimagine WHO/Europe of the Future – making it stronger, more agile, politically neutral & indispensable partner for all Member States.

Today in Budapest 🇭🇺, I presented the designation certificate for the new @WHO Collaborating Centre on Healthy Ageing to Semmelweis University.
Across the European Region, people are living longer than ever before. For the first time, we have more people aged 65+ than under 15. Our task now is to ensure those added years are lived in good health – with connection, dignity, and purpose.
Healthy ageing is one of the priority areas under our European Programme of Work – #EPW2. @WHO_Europe’s forthcoming “Ageing is Living” strategy will guide this effort by advancing prevention, transforming care systems, creating supportive environments & challenging ageism.
The new Centre at @semmelweishu’s Department of Preventive Medicine & Public Health will support this mission by advancing research, training the health and care workforce, and helping countries turn knowledge into action.
Our efforts are not just about adding years to life, but adding life to years.

Every child deserves a healthy start for a healthy life. Today at #RC75CPH, we took a major step toward that goal as Member States adopted the five-year regional Strategy for Child and Adolescent Health and Well-being. The strategy responds to worrying trends in our Region: rising neonatal mortality in some countries, increasing mental health challenges, and growing childhood obesity. It calls for coordinated, equity-driven action across sectors to reverse these trends. Grateful to @UNICEF_ECA and Regional Director @R_DeDominicis for close collaboration in developing this joint strategy. We signed today a Memorandum of Understanding cementing our partnership and setting the next steps as we move toward the implementation phase of the strategy. Working together with Member States and partners, including @unfpaeecaro, we can secure a healthier future for every child and adolescent. #HealthForAll

Thank you Commissioner @OliverVarhelyi for your inspiring remarks at the opening of #RC75CPH.
I am proud that we are building an ever-stronger alliance with the @EU_Commission and can count on its ongoing support.
This means aligning our priorities, but not duplicating our efforts – in key areas such as digital services, AI, and preventing noncommunicable diseases.
@WHO_Europe stands ready to support the EU’s upcoming cardiovascular action plan, its efforts to protect children & young people from rising obesity and other risk factors, including tobacco & e-cigarettes, and to promote healthy nutrition for all.
