#selfsocietyclass Based on what we have learned in this class and seen in our lives, what do you think the next step in social media will be? Will there be a realization that we may have some kind of a problem or will it become further entrenched?
@kmr3441 I am just thankful that social media was not a part of my early life and I had been able to mature a little before being thrown into the world of social media.
@yolyssetheman I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that people realized they could be something online that they are not in real life and it has snow balled into the world we have today.
@JulesRutgers I think our expectations of peers and those around us have been raised to an unhealthy level due to people wanting to project a certain kind of online persona. #selfsocietyclass
With the rise of the internet, people can now gamble at the touch of a screen instead of going to a casino, leading to severe addiction to the internet and online casinos #selfsocietyclass
Online games are notorious for harassment often times for no reason. People play games to get away from reality and unwind which makes it that much more awful when people feel the need to harass them during a time that is supposed to make them feel better/relax. #selfsocietyclass
@selinbellibas Body shaming is more relevant now more than ever with the rise of social media. It is important that we all make it known that we accept and embrace people for who they are and what they look like #selfsocietyclass
@YuknaLia This is a great example of textbook harassment. People viewing their hobby as exclusive and that they can deem who or what kind of people are allowed to enjoy it is just not right. #selfsocietyclass
#selfsocietyclass While I do not participate in any virtual games or worlds, a lot of my friends love to play games like Fortnite, where you can chat with friends and random people and customize your own avatar.
