Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who died in 2022, warned more than a decade ago that the US would eventually strike Iran and predicted a fallout far bigger than Washington expects (my translation):

Saldanha, Western Cape is getting a brand new hydrogen project worth R47 BILLION 💰

Known as The Saldanha Green Hydrogen Project, this modern Green Hydrogen-Ammonia plant will create 500 permanent jobs over the next few years and 2500 jobs during construction. 

The expected annual export revenue will be over R6 billion. Planning for the project will wrap up towards the end of 2024 - after this - an investment decision will be made. The project is expected to commence early 2026. Ireland’s Phelan Green Energy and their South African subsidary, Solar Capital will be driving the investment. 

This is a very exciting project for #SouthAfrica and this specific area is going to benefit big time from the #employment opportunities.
