When doctors in Texas declared his son brain-dead and prepared to pull the plug, George Pickering II refused to let go.
Desperate, he drew a gun and locked down the ICU demanding just one thing: time.
For hours, the standoff dragged on. Then, in the stillness, his son squeezed his father’s hand. Twice.
In that instant, George’s defiance was vindicated. His son was alive.
George went to prison for nearly a year.
But his son recovered, completely.
And he calls his father one word the system never would: hero.
When @elonmusk is right he’s right. Guess what’s going to happen? We’re going to see made in the USA batteries become an even more major thing. Super stoked.
@zerohedge Batteries.
US grid is capable of 1TW steady state, but average usage is ~0.5TW.
Run the power plants at night to charge up the packs and then discharge packs during the day to power AI.
@unusual_whales Well…how does the cost of cane sugar Coca Cola stand up compared to the imported Mexican coke we’re drinking to obtain the beverage with said cane sugar?
@elonmusk hey, …used grok for filing a 2024 tax extension - saved tons of time on the most mind numbing exercise. Gave Grok the usual required stats, deductions I would take (standard), and requested Grok to return what would be expected of me in overall taxes, considering witholdings already paid. Grok presented a reasonable result. The values were used and accepted, I am at peace. POC validation coming in October :) ✌️Jai Grok!
@elonmusk We prefer fair and balanced clocks. Daylight Saving Time is a mandate to wake early and sleep less. Permanent Standard Time keeps the sun’s zenith at noon—best for health and safety!
In the Edo period of isolation apparently Japan had 1/3rd of its present population….is this where the country is headed? Who knows but an interesting dynamic considering pre-modern lifestyle some reemerging through endemic destruction of the Japanese family capability. However, perhaps a Heian era one Woman-many-husbands structure could revive things? The opposite may also be true…
