@GageEHC I don’t disagree with you. The catcher is going to be already in motion and 9 out of 10 times will throw to 2nd unless they do hear the umpire and don’t waste a throw. It’s on the runner at that point to stay on the bag after initially touching it.

@ThienemanSZN And completely correct:No, you cannot overrun or overslide second base.Unlike first base and home plate, which have specific rules for overrunning or oversliding second or third base means you are liable to be tagged out if you lose contact with the bag.
