@grimaudo65 I completely agree, it's incredible how a movie made in 1989 is still relevant today. Even though we are many years past these times our society continues to allow our differences to pull us apart. #Media1802D04
@CindyHuang76 I agree the film clearly portrays what happens when people allow their differences to become obstacles. If society took the time to educate themselves, we would learn to respect and accept people of all races. #Media1802D04
After watching the film, I felt sad and a sense of indignation. I felt this because of the effects hatred has on a society. The camera angles added to these feelings because it made the movie feel realistic and as if I was included in it. #Media1802D04
@julilations I agree especially due to the fact the internet is built on people, if we aren't able to share or produce content freely social media will no longer be a place of the people but instead another attempt to control and suppress them, which will ensue chaos.
@austin_zhou22 I agree. Having the ability to share certain views and issues on social media is what makes it unique. If the FCC regulates the internet, it completely defeats its purpose and will restrict many people from sharing information other people should or want to know.
I don't believe the FCC should regulate the internet because there are many things, they might censor that the public deserves to see. That much control over what we see removes our freedoms and can sway the public view to a side more favorable to the government. #Media1802D04
@grimaudo65 I agree and to add on, this specifically caters to people who use makeup and go through mental health issues. People who are going through issues or advocate for mental health will be more inclined to purchase this product because they feel heard and seen.
@peter_cain12@rainydb333 I agree, being a breaking bad fan it was a funny commercial to see and made me excited to finish watching the show, but the ad could also be catered to people who haven't watched it because its very intriguing and very different from other ads.
The use of expensive Jewely and classy outfits on both models encourages young people to believe that smoking can help them look classy. The happy facial expressions encourage them to believe they will be happier if they smoke, which makes smoking seem good instead of deadly.
This ad is targeted to a younger audience to continue smoking because the use of a filter allows them to believe it's safer than the old form of smoking, the use of younger youthful looking people allows the audience to believe smoking is cool and safe. #Media1802D04
@sarahathunter I agree this is an example of convergence, families to this day still watch shows together but not in the same ways that traditional broadcasts allowed them to. These changes allow for communities to grow stronger and closer together. #Media1802D04
@xxM180TDD9000xx Exactly! I completely agree, creating a diverse platform doesn't mean it would bring people apart, but instead allows for people of many different interests and opinions to be included and feel represented in society. #Media1802D04
The traditional broadcast system had very little diversity, and many people with different backgrounds and interests were left out. With cable many people can come together to watch or listen to things that appeals to their interests and allows for new ideas. #Media1802D04
Cable did not disrupt our sense of community but instead allows people to watch things that are of their own interests and connect with people who have the same interests or respectfully debate or have conversations about their different views and interests. #Media1802D04
@julilations@tinachen5448 The fact that social media is worldwide and mostly available to all people of the world creates a big opportunity and privilege for people to speak their mind and communicate their views to others. This is the good side of social media that fosters positivity.
@julilations I agree with your comment, for as long as media has been around people have and continue to change the way things are portrayed to try and swerve the audience to their side, which creates distrust in the media and prevents the audience from seeing the truth.
Social Media provides multiple public platforms where people can freely share their interests and opinions, but many social media users abuse their freedoms by taking it away from others as well as social media platforms that take the liberties away from their users.#Media1802D04
